The accelerated police action in the wake of Sturgeon deciding (or being advised?) to quit seems telling.
I think it would be considerably more telling had she not stepped down. She clearly knew an investigation was on the horizon which itself would have made her position untenable, regardless of the outcome of the investigation.

The investigation has been under way for two years and she's previously batted away any questions about it. Seems more likely she was made aware things were coming to a head? Potentially being questioned/arrested by police while FM would not have been a good look and the media uproar would have dwarfed what we're seeing right now.

Why else do you think pots and pans would be on their search list? You think they're going into the back of that van with Charles Hanson from Bargain Hunt to evaluate everything they see to find out if it adds up to 600k?

That's a fair point. Which explains why she did step down.

You've been giggling away without providing any context of your own. So i'll ask again. Why do you think pots and pans have been included in their search criteria?

Is it just me or does anybody else think this investigation is getting more ridiculous every day?

Or is it just the Media's total obsession with it and the way it's being presented (scary Sim cards, pots & pans, etc) that's becoming more and more bizarre?

Possibly because there is evidence that pots and pans and perhaps other goods were purchased with SNP funds which ended up in the Murrell household for their own personal use. 🤷*♂️

Maybe they meant to write Prestonpans.

Well if that is the case, then everything contained within the van will be on their search list. I don't however believe this is the case and the reason that pots and pans would be on their search list is for the same reason that "boxes" or anything else where things could be potentially hidden will be on that list. I may of course be incorrect, but that seems far more probable. Got to hand it to the papers though, there headlines have really achieved the intended effect on some people.

I can’t wait to see these pots and pans.
They must be the sort of solid gold stuff found in Sadam’s palaces.

With every new leak from the investigation, it’s starting to look political. While the SNP have to observe silence on the issue while it’s an open case, the police seem happy to detail their every move in the media.

I agree. However they're likely leaking everything to the press and the press is then selectively nit picking at all of the details to see how they can generate the most nonsensical headlines that will drive people to nonsensical pre-conclusions that won't come close to the actual reality of the situation.

Well to be fair that would certainly justify the two year investigation, the two arrests, the dawn raid, the 20 officers and six vans, the tent on the lawn and the months of front page news exclusives.

I get the jokes. What I don't find funny is that there are still people who read media headlines as gospel with little to no regard to the stunts media outlets pull in order to generate them. The papers don't create these headlines as a joke, they do it to plant ideas in peoples minds, regardless of how far twisted and out of context their headlines are.

Yet despite all of this and the media hype around it, not a single person has been charged of yet.

With no knowledge about the investigation everything is supposition. The front page news are all about selling papers, they know as much as we do. All we know is this is a procurator fiscal lead investigation after various accusations were made.

I doubt the police are looking for these specific things it's probably just the paper's pointing out her lavish lifestyle and trying to make something?

The mentioned pens, pots and jewellery.

She is regularly pictured with montblanc pens that are about 700 a pop and Sheila Fleet necklaces that are 2k.

There's no way they would have bought that sort of stuff on snp cards. They are wealthy people it sounds like nonsense

Were the designer pots and pans on the police list before they searched the battle bus or were they on an inventory (list) of items found in the wonder bus? Was anything found under the mattress(es)? What was the CD in the media centre? What air freshener was in the bog?

Yep and they also use terms like "luxury pens" and "designer pots". Notice how they avoid using the word "expensive" though. It's very deliberately open to ambiguity.

She's been pictured a number of times with montblanc pens as I've said they are definitely luxury, she wouldn't have been pictured with her pans I'd doubt

Seven hundred quid for a pen? Good grief!

Yes, but the "luxury pens" in the van may be nothing like the luxury pens Nicola Sturgeon has been seen with. You can buy a "luxury pen" for a fiver.

Your probably are. Both are true £700 for pens and thousands for necklaces for work is lavish as is being able to give loans of 100k. But the second part is true also, they are in the top 1% of earners, so I'm sure they can afford without having kids

Depends on who's saying it I suppose. Although if someone told me they had bought a luxury pen and I found out it was a 5er I'd think they were a nitwit

How many of those pens would be gifts from foreign dignitaries. She better hope she's declared them or.....Screenshot_2023-04-23-14-47-28-09_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg
