Newcastle have had a good 2nd half, just no luck.

But United showing it does, with their much more expensive team and much higher wage bill?
Just assumed Newcastle had spent more than Man United over the last couple of years. Shows what I know!

Karius has had a decent game. Commentator seemed desperate to pin the 2nd goal on him but that was wicked deflection.

Pleased for him. He's been absolutely ridiculed for years now and people are lining up to pick him apart all because of 2 mistakes 5 years ago. Hopefully he rebuilds a bit confidence as prior to that he was a decent keeper.

I'm happy to see Ten Hag get a trophy in his first season. He is doing an excellent job in making United competitive again. He is building a good team. There will be other chances for Newcastle; there should be exciting times ahead for them.

Too right mate. Last bloody tackle and batley scored. Pretty much last 10 seconds.

Cougars must win tight games more.

Hope you enjoying tv program though lad.

First trophy of the season goes to Old Trafford. Hopefully, the Glazers will soon be gone and good times can return.

Having lived in the north east I feel for all the Mags who would have enjoyed an almost 2016 style party if they’d won. The other side of the coin is a lot of relieved Mackems.

No complaints . Newcastle United gave it a good go in the 2nd half . Newcastle fans amazing as ever . Good times for Newcastle fans on the horizon 🏁. Congrats to Man u fans on here 👍

Is it sixty-odd years since they won a trophy? They will win something soon, given the finance now available to them.

I can remember them winning the UEFA Cup, late 60s

Would have partied but nowhere close to May 2016.

It's mad that such a big club, with such a passionate support, should go so long without a trophy. Same goes for Sunderland. It's a football crazy region, but they've had nothing for decades. That really should change for Newcastle very soon.

The Saudi government's wait on a trophy continues. Doubt it'll continue too long unfortunately.

Was nominally a Newcastle fan until they got taken over by murderers. Would still be nice for the fans if they won though.

OF final - seeing Rangers fans miserable is objectively funnier than seeing Celtic fans miserable, but both are good. Hope the game's abandoned.
I said this to the Mrs earlier - Celtic winning against the Huns is like going to the hospital thinking you’ve broke your arm but it turns out you’ve only fractured it. It’s still ***** and you’d rather it didn’t happen, could’ve been worse though

    😂😂 that's the perfect analogy.

Rangers winning though is like wiping your arse and seeing blood.

They beat Rangers in the Semi [Fairs Cup] and the Ibrox hordes invaded the pitch. Ex-Hibby, Jim Scott was in the Newcastle team, that won 2-0, following a 0-0 draw at Ibrox.

IMO, Fernandes aside, there's something very likeable about this Man United side.

Awful injury in le classique, hopefully he’s ok. These things can kill a game off.
