Gerrard never pretended to coach. Well known that he looks on the job as being the manager and tells the coaches what he wants to achieve. Like Alex Ferguson in his last 20 years at Manchester.

Michael Beale deserves a lot of credit then because he did an outstanding job at Sevco. To stop 10 in a row, win silverware and regain respectability in Europe was no mean feat.

Think he was quoted yesterday saying his Liverpool team were playing against two teams yesterday. Leeds & United Losing the plot.

Of all the managers in the Scottish premier , surely it's GVB that's looking the most likely for the chop ? Maybe Steven Gerrard getting excited as well , would he go back though ? Or is Neil Lennon the man at 33/1 ?

Would be surprised if he lasts the day out …Gerrard without Beale, could be like Stubbs without Doolan / Taff

Aye agree he's a dead man walking there now , I think Gerard's inflated ego of himself would probably decide for him to take the job if he was offered it which would be no bad thing as it looked like Beale was the brains behind everything anyhow . Betfair were giving odds on what year GVB would leave Huns 2022=4/1..2023=4/7 and 2024 or later =9/4 . Wouldn't imagine they are giving 4/1 now though ?

Gerrard won't come back knowing there is no budget, or t least he'd be daft if he did. They will struggle badly to attract a top class manager. The zombie fans will be expecting Pottechino or equal.

Would they not be tempted to offer a substantial transfer budget to get a manager They wanted though like a Sean Dyche ,Beale or Gerard ?

    Southampton sacking their manager apparently.

Wouldn’t have thought he’d be someone on the Huns radar but you never know.

Don’t know but you’d assume so.

Was a journalist in the Athletic who was reporting he was getting sacked. They’re generally pretty reliable.

At least he has a career as a Klopp impersonator. Always strikes me as the cringey the way he so obviously tries to be a Klopp clone.

Speaking to a Bonnyrigg Rose supporter who told me that Robbie Horne’s coat is on a very shuggly nail.

If results go against the Rosy Posy this weekend they could end up bottom of League 2.

The mutter in the gutter is that as Horne is going out the exit door,Gary Naysmith is coming in the entrance.

Surprised that James McDonaugh is never mentioned as a possible managerial candidate at this level.Thought he did a good job at Edinburgh City in building the foundations that enabled them to move forward.

Not sure whether he has a current post in football, but he may be happy where he is and doesn’t want the hassles of the manager / head coaches job.

I 100% agree with you on GVB...and you would lay the Neil Lennon odds all day if you were a bookmaker 😂

It would be funny if his contract requires a full pay off. Three years pay for two weeks work! That's a strange situation.

Aye , strange situation right enough, if he ( Leam Richardson) has to be paid in full it's a big error from the Wigan board, where they not in serious financial trouble a few years back ?

Is Whelan’s grandson still running the show there or has the club changed ownership? Not really up to date on their current position at all.

Edit - now owned by the International Entertainment Corporation.

Further edit - looks like a shambles since IEC took over. Been through a few other changes ending in administration. Current owners are Bahrain group Phoenix 21 Limited.

They certainly made some serious errors in there time from Whelan's era up to now ,think Whelan was there 20 years or so and also seem to recall he was charged by the FA. for some sort of racist remarks anyhow giving a manager a 3 deal and sacking him to weeks later seems to be a strange decision and doesn't look good on the people running Wigan football club
