My very eclectic line up for gigs so far for this year ...... Jack Savoretti, Santana tribute band, Blue Rose Code, Stereophonics, The Eagles and The Proclaimers.
I'm going to see Blue Rose Code in Inverness on Saturday. First concert since 2019 for me, thoroughly looking forward to it.

Perth theatre on Friday for me. Cancelled gig from April 2020.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

After a few rescheduled dates and cancellations, my gig diary for the rest of the year is shaping up nicely.

The Killiers at Falkirk and twice in Dublin followed by Isle of Wight Festival, Finlay Quaye at Liquid Rooms, Tears for Fears & Allison Moyet in Lytham St Annes, Gerry Cinnamon at Hampden, Simple Minds in Princes St Gardens, Enjoy The Silence (Depeche Mode tribute) at Liquid Rooms, Scouting For Girls at SW3 in Glasgow.

I'm guessing many of you youngsters won't recognise these names, but in the coming months I've got tickets for Nick Mason, Carl Palmer, Yes, Steve Hackett, Kris Drever and Jenny Sturgeon.

Tomorrow I'm off to see Karine Polwart and the SCO.

And in the last few weeks I've seen Iain Matthews, Heal & Harrow, Van der Graff Generator, Man and Tangerine Dream.

Well, grunt, I’m an oldie and don’t recognise many or any of them. 😂 So what, I say. It’s just great to hear that folk are getting back to enjoying live music after 2 years of Covid and, now, Russian madness. Enjoy!!!

Chvrches at the Corn Exchange, sorry O2 Academy, on Monday. I’d forgotten about it until my mate reminded me the other day. Saw them a few years back at the Hydro and thought the venue was too big, so looking forward to seeing them in a smaller hall.

Excellent as ever. No 2 shows the same. Brass section. Grateful like you have never heard and a bit of gospel for good measure. And a few covers.

First time for me. We got 5 piece folk/rock. I was expecting soulful melancholy. 😆

    Brilliant though, really enjoyed it.

Off to Glasgow shortly to The Garage to see Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy, New Model Army), supported by The Virginmary's who we've seen a few times now and are excellent and Anchor Lane from Glasgow who we seen supporting Tremonti about 3 years ago. Can't beat a bit of heavy rock.

Nice one - they actually played there as part of their 50th anniversary tour in 2013. I know because I had a ticket and sold it 🙈

That doesn’t take away from how good a time you’ll have. They were still putting on a great show when I last seen them in 2018. Seen them 4 times now and haven’t yet convinced myself that I’ll be going back to see them without Charlie (Charlie watts before anyone is in with a wise crack 😉).. but I probably will eventually!

I must add that they were absolutely superb….. great set and sleek presentation with great lighting graphics. Evidence of masks, I would guess 1%, was slightly unsettling. I suppose you just have to accept that’s how it is now.

Got tickets for Squeeze on 9th November at Usher Hall. I’ve seen them a few times over the last few years, been brilliant every time. Especially in Glasgow Green a few years back.

Missed the Supersuckers gig last night at Bannermans due to a commitment I couldn’t change.

    Not seen them since 2003!

    Upcoming gigs?

Sorry not a Gig and don’t want to hijack the thread, but just woke up to the sad news that Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters Drummer has died unexpectedly aged 50!

Down in Scarborough for two day punk festival. A few pubs last night were rammed with Huns blasting out Simply The Best on the karaoke, with their choice additions. Wondered if there was a friendly or bounce game today. Turned out that there was an Orange March this morning through the town centre...

Sam Fender was brilliant last night.

That Hydro needs to sort itself out though. The bars were a shambles.

My condolences. Was in Southport a few years back, on one of the marching days, and the pubs were stowed out with them singing their usual bile.

I saw Dead Can Dance at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow last night. Didn't know what to expect, but the missus is a big fan so I'd got her tickets for Christmas. Really enjoyed it, quite hypnotic. Female singer has a remarkable voice.

Got tickets yesterday for Black Country, New Road at Tut's in May. Again, don't know what to expect as they'll be playing all new material they've written since the original singer left earlier in the year. Had tickets for their gig in December which was cancelled.
