Inhaler’s debut album is excellent. Hugely influenced by the singer’s old man, no doubt about it. They’ve clearly had a lot of cash thrown at them, judging by the production levels. A mix of The Music, James, The Bravery and The Killers with some Edge guitar chords chucked in for good measure. Very catchy indie commercial rock.

New Chubby & the Gang album, The Mutts Nuts, out last Friday and having had it pre-ordered mine came in rather fetching translucent orange vinyl.
No difficult second album challenges for them here, absolute Stormer of an album that starts off where they left off with unique and unusual hybrid of hardcore/oi/pub rock. Bit more diversity in this album with hints of blues and even a few slower melodic numbers.
Pretty much been on the turntable since Friday now.

Bought Julia Bardo’s album, Bauhaus L’Appartmento. Standard indie but quite good nonetheless.

One of the highlights of a recent festival I was at was 96 Backs Saturday set. He's the in house artists at Hopeworks and is involved in the festival every year. He played a few times over the weekend but his main gig was promoting his new album. Its kinda leftfield pop, reminds me a bit of Maps. He was so proud be be playing and the authentic joy really shone through in his set. Anyhoo the new album is out today and well worth a listen https://96back1.bandcamp.com/album/l...ne-through-six

Not doing it yet, but will be tomorrow. The eagerly awaited new Half Man Half Biscuit album The Voltarol Years is released tomorrow. Unfortunately the vinyl version isn't out till July. So streaming it is until the pre-order is delivered.
This is the first release not on probe plus records and on their own label R.M Qualtrough records, in true HMHB style there's a bizarre story behind the name.

The sneak preview track put out last week suggests this could be yet another cracker.

Edit: hopefully released tomorrow, the date has changed back and forward from 18th to 25th about 3 times. So could be a long weekLast edited by degenerated; 18-02-2022 at 06:11 AM.

One of the great pleasures in life is a new HMHB album release and the detective work required to get the references in the lyrics.
I'm currently listening to Camell Laird Social Club and frequently checking Spotify in hope of the glorious moment it appears

The two songs I have heard off the new one are excellent, Rogation Sunday and I'm getting buried in the morning. I've read good things about Tess of the dormobiles so all sounding positive for that tricky 15th album

Likewise I really struggle to pick a favourite – possibly McIntyre, Treadmore and Davitt if you held a gun to my head. I don't know why you would though, seems massively disproportionate.

Repertoire records have released a 4cd set of live stuff from the Stone the Crows recorded in the late 60s and early 70s.
Still my favourite band of all time
