Any word on a left sided CB?

Feel like that's been an issue for a while, and why McCart was previously a target.

Think we could do with cover for when Hanlon is injured, or if he's needed to play centrally in a 3.

McGeouch would be a costly option who spends most of his time on the bench or in the stand.

Brown has been part of an Aberdeen team that has failed to match up to fan expectations.
Aberdeen as a whole being poor isn’t just down to Brown.

It’s like saying Boyle isn’t good because we’ve been poor.

St Johnstone have just signed Tony Gallacher, 22, left-sided defender from Liverpool. McCart could be on his way.

I didn't mean on his way here, although that is possible.

McGeouch is well and truly done, so is Brown?
How is McGeouch well and truly done exactly?

If he comes to Hibs it will be such a shame.

    Does that really need explaining?

He’s made under 40 first team appearances ( including those made from off the bench) and is his third season at Aberdeen.

Do you think that represents value for money?

Ouch ,those numbers look really poor value, particularly since he will not be on a cheap contract.

No one is talking about value for money though.

McGeough was and still is a good player and a good option to have, despite how little he’s played for Aberdeen.

Some players suit certain clubs, I think the majority would have said McGeough isn’t a good fit for Aberdeen.

If McGrath signs for Aberdeen, he’ll replace Hedges. It’s not going to improve their best team.

Personally I wouldn’t see an obvious role for McGrath in our new system. Better off with pace in the front 3 positions.

It's a difficult one IMO. There's every chance that McGeoch probably does retain a lot of the ability he had when he was at Hibs, but it's still a gamble in terms of how many games we get out of him and what kind of money he's on. I suppose a valid question might be, is he better than a good defensive midfielder we can get for the same price and play more games?

In reality he’s contributed very little for Aberdeen, good fit or otherwise.

High wage earner who is rarely fit and rarely plays. When he does, he contributes little. Value for money and being done, all covered in one player.

    Oh. Right.

You said nothing about value for money. You said he is done.

How can you say this? The fact he hasn’t got into an Aberdeen side under two different managers when their side has been Tom Kite for the majority of his time there surely tells its own story? He’s had his injuries but even without those he’s had ample time to get into their team and failed.

During the Celtic John McGinn saga it was posted on here that in the event of a player swap for a future transfer of a prev club has a % of profit they're still due whatever the financial equivalent of the deal would be. No idea how accurate that is though.
That's probably accurate. The latest in Italy is Milan and Napoli are interested as well but Bologna want €13.5 million euros for him. Likely to be a player exchange and some cash (2/3 million est.) if it does happen. Milan is likely destination now.

How can I say what? That’s he’s a good player? Because that’s my opinion.

He hasn’t played as much as I’m sure he wanted but that’s a lot different to being ‘done’.

My point was that he along with Ferguson, McGrath and Brown is a very good midfield to have.

I’m not saying McGeough is the messiah and best centre mid in the league like some are making out I am. Like I said some players suit some teams and for me he was never going to succeed at Aberdeen.

McGeouch was always going to be an odd fit for McInnes' Aberdeen, strange one as he'd the manager who bought him.

I might have expected him to re-emerge under a manager keener on playing a bit of football but that doesn't really seem to have been the case.

He was a cracking player for us but I just don't think he's that player any more.

5K or thereabouts. Pay rise when he moved to Sunderland, wouldn't have taken a pay cut to move to Aberdeen.

Hedges has been linked with Blackburn and I doubt if McGrath would be a replacement for him. I would say he was more of a natural replacement for Ferguson or a partner which would give them a very strong midfield imo. Ideally we would not want McGrath at Aberdeen to play along side Ferguson. As far as we are concerned, we don't want them to get McGrath, and also Ferguson leaving in the summer would be cherry on the cake.

Not arsed about McGrath. He'd be an OK player for Hibs, Hearts or Aberdeen, nothing more.

Lets be honest, when Dylan left Sunderland it was hopefully to go to a side to give him the platform to again move on again at some point to a higher level. He chose Aberdeen and now he's on his way to a lower level. He should have and should be having a much better career and I can't see him getting any higher a level now than bottom six Prem sides.

Genuinely think St Mirren missed out last window. Allan, Wright and a few bob was a good deal.

Wonder if Rangers will get Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen as a replacement for Patterson now he is off to Everton.
