Half and half, I hadn’t had one booked yet but today’s announcement hasn’t put me in any rush to book one that’s for sure. I’ll probably wait till after the year now. Why risk flooring myself with side effects before Christmas when I won’t be able to do much anyway?
Now that sounds slightly less daft and more believable, Saul 😀

A few suggestions saying football should bring forward the winter break to now, then in 3 weeks we are back to normal....

Of course its personal choice, but to go to the extent of cancelling an appointment because you can’t go to the football is about as childish as it gets.

I hope for Sauls sake he doesn’t catch omicron, when the booster has been shown to better protect against it.

Like you say, personal choice but if you’re going to share it on a forum you need to be prepared to be told it’s daft.
How very self righteous of you.

I got vaccinated as I was told it would be a way to get out of restrictions.

If there was any guarantees that crowds could return to normal after 3 weeks then I'd say go for it.

I don't believe for a second that this will be lifted in 3 weeks.

Yeah it's unlikely to be 3 weeks is it, I think the last 2 week circuit breaker turned in 6 months or something like that.

You do realise what the case fatality rate for someone who is healthy and reasonably young is?

I think certainly postponing the NY games (all the derbies) until later in the year makes sense. Hopefully they do that for fan/commercial reasons.

Except in 3 weeks we wont be back to normal mate. This is going to be the case for a while yet. Anyone who thinks otherwise, is sadly, very mistaken. We’ve seen/heard all this nonsense before…

I could place almost anything on us being under stronger restrictions in 3 weeks let alone back to normal

It's something like 0.001% if you are under 40. You're probably more likely to get knocked down than die from covid. May as well no leave the house?

It's far from a gold standard but if your son is negative on the LFT then there's every change he's no longer infectious.

In 3 weeks' time we'll be starting to deal with the fallout from the Christmas socialising which isn't banned and if anything the hospital numbers will only be higher than they are right now.

If I was to make a prediction right now I'd say tomorrow night will be our last match at full capacity until some time in March.

So getting fully vaccinated is terrible logic? Strong.

It does concern how many people on social media and the like are saying "sod the booster" or something like that. Much as we thought the second vaccine was the way out of this, it's still the case that our best chance of getting out of this is vaccinating and boosting as many people are possible not just here, but around the world.

Hopefully it's just immediate anger clouding judgment at this moment in time but I hope this doesn't slow down the rate of getting boosters into arms.

Getting fully vaccinated has nothing to do with this, your point is that there’s still a possibility of dieing even once fully vaccinated, that’s a risk that people need to accept otherwise life is never going to be anything close to normal ever again. I’ve never said anything about not getting vaccinated.

If only we could be like South Africa who had 34% fully vaccinated and didn't need any restrictions for covid to come and fall with a whimper

Thats not what my point was? My point was responding to another poster who said the chances of you dying from Covid are minimal if you're under a certain age, but it still happens. The original post I was responding to was someone saying they aren't getting the booster, when it's been shown to reduce the effects of the new variant.
