IIRC it stated in the accounts that they needed an additional 7.5M to finish the season. Do they need more now that the Lying King has been paid? Also, has Hector been paid yet? Come on CWG - give us some informed opinions

"While announcing figures to June 2021, Rangers summarised a seven-figure loan, plus £832,000 interest, had been repaid to Mr King since that accounting period ended and replaced by ‘a long term, lower coupon structured facility’ to support their aim to ‘strengthen our capital and funding structure’."
The words "glib" and "shameless" were springing to mind when I read that pile of absolute drivel.

    1. nah, sorry. That has been taken account of in the £7.5m.

    2. no scooby. They have £7.7m due for "Taxes & Other Social Security Costs" at the end of June. No idea how that breaks down into VAT, PAYE, NI etc. Also don't know whether it's for 1 month, or longer. It's a huge sum, but a couple of million lower than it was last year.

From BBC Gossip column today on the King matter

Former Rangers chairman Dave King cites "inaccurate" information in the club's most recent accounts, saying a £5m loan was incorrectly attributed to him rather than a business within his family trust structure. (Sun)

King says interest of more than £800,000 paid on the loan had "no impact" on Rangers' financial results. (Scotsman - subscription required)

We all know King is a fine upstanding gentleman known never to lie about anything!!

    He's probably right.

The £832k was paid after the year-end, so it affects the current year's loss.

I don’t think Ashley’s compensation has been announced yet or have Rangers settled?

  9. #43748
Deluded Rangers fans on Superscoreboard thinking Gerrard won't go to Villa because Rangers are a much bigger club. One yesterday even said Rangers are bigger than Liverpool.

Can't wait to see the meltdown when he goes.

Wonder who they'll go for to replace Gerrard?

    They haven't.

At the moment, they have provided about £2.75m against the claim. If it's more than that, the excess will be in this year's accounts, and will add to the £7.5m shortfall.

Is that the gangster like bus company owners that used to burn down rival bus depots (allegedly)?
That's them. They maybe or maybe not robbed IBM of half a million pounds worth of chips many years ago then diversified.

That's a lot of chips. Wonder if they sold them on to Mrs B.

Not sure how accurate it is, but read elsewhere that Derek McInnes had a sit down with them recently, with an initial aim to act as caretaker for the rest of the season.
Again, unsure if the accuracy so don't shoot the messenger.

Gerard and Beale seen in London. If and when he takes Villa job I am sure he will raid The Rangers for Kent and Patterson.

Kent is decent but I imagine Gerrard will be aiming higher than that unless Gerrard takes advantage of how broke Sevco are and low balls them. Now that would be funny.......

I’m not sure there is anyone in that Rangers team that would get a game for Villa.

Ryan was on Villa's radar at one time.

I don’t think he’ll want anyone and as soon as he’s away he’ll be very critical of the standard up here to lend himself some credibility with the fans of his new club.

I think the opposite. If he is critical of the standard up here then surely questions will be asked over his poor record (1 trophy in 9 hardly entitles him to be critical of the standard).

Callum Davidson has won more than him as a manager in a shorter period of time.

If fat morelos is as good as the record says, surely Gerrard will move to secure the world's best striker.

    Oh wait.

He could have given Sevco some broad assurances on that to let him leave quickly. Then it will turn out that Villa find the £15m valuation of Alfredo as ludicrous as everyone else.

Probably only just realised it's a cardboard cut out, been talking to it, and performing other Masonic rituals with it for weeks.

    Reported to be £4.5m compensation.

That will make a huge dent in their financial problem.

Well it just makes the 7.5M hole less deep no? Also, they were saying 2m a couple of days ago - I'm more inclined to believe that figure.

They have to replace the manager and backroom staff though. If they want anyone who's in a job, that will cost.

Just about to post the same. The Lying King is probably cross he didn’t round up the interest to a cool £1m, now that Rangers have some cash lying about.
