A vaccine passport is something that I would usually be deeply opposed to.
In this instance, as a temporary measure, then I support it, albeit somewhat grudgingly.
It's not a normal situation and it calls for more radical measures to tackle it. I'd rather have to carry a letter about or scan/show a QR code when going out than go back to being told to stay in the house.

It's quite a u turn on vaccine passports as only a few weeks ago John Swinney said "Rejecting people who refuse a coronavirus vaccination from certain large events is the wrong approach"
I think he was wrong then but right now.

Quite happy with that on vaccine certificates, makes things safer in the short term and it’ll also push a few more people to get vaccinated. Then when things are better, they can get rid of them.

If it starts to lead to increasing levels of intrusiveness with flu jabs and the like being included then I could quickly reverse my tentative support.
I suppose there is an argument the pandemic has seen nothing but incremental intrusions into our lives by the govt and this is just another step but I'm just about willing to trust them, for now.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

I welcome today's announcement although I'd personally like to see it extended to hotels, restaurants and pubs but the proposals will do for now.
I just feel there's a far higher risk of an unvaccinated person doing damage in an indoor venue like a restaurant compared with an outdoor venue like Easter Road.

So, is it really going to be a case that if you're not double jabbed you can't get in to these events? If so, that is ****ing mental, IMO.

I hope that, when the legislation is passed, there is provision for it being reviewed frequently for unintended consequences and that it is time-limited.

Talking about vaccines has anyone else had any lingering fatigue after their 2nd dose?
I'm training for a marathon at the moment and pre vaccine I was going well as I increased my mileage. The days after the 2nd dose I struggle big time but that wasn't unexpected. It's a pain in the arse now though as I am tiring noticeably quicker and my recovery takes far longer.
It could well be there is something else at play but it seems a bit of a coincidence it has become a noticeable issue after the 2nd vaccine dose.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

I've personal experience of that type of review being (sensibly IMO) suggested by the Opposition , only for political horse-trading to have it bumped.
