Probably so people stop going on about him signing.

If he signs then great, I can’t be bothered with it dominating the rumours all summer though.

Even when we signed the boy yesterday, the Twitter comments were mostly about signing Griffiths.

Folk become obsessed about him and it’s boring.

A friend of mine was playing golf with Allan Preston yesterday and his insight was that Porteous won’t be going to Turkey, Griffiths isn’t staying at Celtic and Irvine will sign for Aberdeen.

Same here, always liked the look of him when he played for Scotland, scored against Neuer too.

Jozo Simunovic also a free agent, can't remember if he had injury problems but wouldn't be against giving him a year deal

Irvine going to Aberdeen would be the most sideways move of all time if it happens. He’s clearly not interested in staying with us and it seems we’ve moved on with the signing of JDH.

We’re definitely not getting peak Leigh Griffiths but we never would. Peak Leigh Griffiths is one of the best strikers in Scottish football in my life time. He was never going to be playing for us at his peak.
