    Fantastic.

Thought Swiss would give them a hard game. They are a tough side to beat but Italy have really battered them.

Italy have been the most impressive so far, fancy them to go the distance. Immobile’s record for Lazio is unbelievable.

Have to be honest, I am quite glad Scotland are not in this group, we would be utterly humiliated by Italy.

    3-0. Good strike.

Great for Italy. They can rest their whole team in the Wales match

  14. #1003
Wales be happy with that result. Got a 5 goal swing going into the final game, very likely they will finish 2nd.

Bale, Ramsay and James better than anything we have, unfortunately
they are but only Bale is truly world class. my point was how one player of that ability just drags everyone else up. the others are very good players but they're not the kind of game changers every game like Bale is.

Have to say I totally disagree with Neville and Vierra when they said Italy will struggle against the better teams. For me Italy have earned the right to be taken very seriously. They're strong in almost all areas of the park, and even the subs when they came on, Chiesa for example, looked good players. Good team and good to watch too.

Sadly they will meet in the semis unless they fail to win their groups or get knocked out first.

They were my two pre tournament tips.

Not a lot of positives for the Swiss, but their flag is a big plus.

Agree they have been exceptional. Switzerland are a decent international team and we're completely outplayed.

Have a good team spirit they have bonded are determined and have goals in them which is unusual for an Italian International side

History tells us that the eventual winners grow and improve throughout the competition

    I wouldn’t write off Italy

France and Belgium look big dangers with perhaps a dark horse lurking in the pack

    Bring it on

Italy celebrated every goal like they had won the tournament. As if giving the watching world a lesson on how to everything in football flawlessly wasn’t enough, the pile ons show a squad so determined to win and support each other that no one will want to play them. A joy to watch, as long as your team’s not playing them.

Doesn't really Matterhorn, just getting there was the Basel and end all for them.

You know you’re a paid up member of the football hipster club when you’re settling down for Ukraine-North Macedonia group game. Most unglamorous fixture on paper?

Probably about the same level of interest a Ukrainian or North Macedonian would have in Scotland v Czech Republic.
