Fairly conservative estimates would see us getting around £6m for Doig, Nisbet, Porteous and Boyle.
That would be a hugely significant sum for us and bound to effect the players we would be in for and how much we could offer them.

If we want to get maximum value for the players, we need to be looking to put off bids coming in, not encouraging them.
Tough one for the club to handle and I’d love to know how they go about managing the situation.

That way you get players at sensible prices rather other teams wanting more cash from us because they know we are wedged.

What a move for him it would be.
Porteous i dont beleive hibs will let him go for 1 million thats an under valuation .
Nisbet well 4 million seems to be reasonable money for him.
So for me sell nisbet and doig keep the rest and bring in some class with our 9 million kitty.
Ps if man utd are interested in john mcginn you can add another 3 million or so as seems to be the rumour .

I’m sure the club won’t be daft enough to put off bringing players in until other players are sold. That’s a sure way to end up,paying well over the odds.

In all seriousness though he appeared to be their captain (in Fifa anyway ...). Might be an okay signing for the championship.

Galatasaray would be a good move for Porteuos , Champions League football, chance to learn from big players and a decent wage .
Even if he was to struggle a bit in Turkey there would an English Championship that would come in for him.
He gets some amount of stick for such a young player , can see him going on to be a top player and a regular for Scotland

Is it only me that isn’t enamoured at the prospect of losing Ryan Porteous? It’s terrible news.

I think Porteous is easier to replace than both Boyle and Nisbet. Players with pace and skill like Boyle are very hard to come by at our level and someone who scores the amount and different types of goals that Nisbet does are rare in Scottish football.
I don't want to lose Porteous, but I would rather lose him than Boyle or Nisbet.

He’s a decent player but I don’t think he’ll ever be that level, or the level to become Scotland captain imo

Who would you replace this young prospect, international call up under his belt, regular starter in a fairly good season....with?

He's a good player and could easily do a Paul Hanlon and be a regular in the Hibs team for the next 10 years. Still to be convinced he will be an international regular or regular EPL player. I'd prefer him to stay at Hibs as I think we would struggle to replace him with anyone who is just as good as he is a good all rounder

I loved him when he first broke into the team. Whilst he understandably had a few rough edges, he was a very good and effective player from the moment he broke into the team, staking a very strong claim ahead of experienced players of good pedigree.
He's lost his way though and I don't think that can be denied. The problem with the way he's lost his way is that it appears to be mental and associated with the "head's turned" effect of being around the international squad and attracting interest from bigger clubs. It would be nice to think he'd be happy to stay, play through his recent shaky form and become a better player who attracts a better next move, but the reality (as I see it) is that I just don't think he wants that - he looks every bit the player to me who wants away and sees his future at a higher level.
And I only really want to see players play for Hibs who actually want to play for Hibs.
It just feels to me like his time at the club has reached a natural conclusion, and it's reached a conclusion with his level of performance being quite a bit short of previous excellent players who had clearly done as much as they could with us and had earned the right to play (and earn) at a higher level.

Selling Porteous might allow us to keep Nisbet & Doig for another year as well as a couple of signings that will help improve the team and help make us more than the sum of our current parts.

Some muppets on KS are talking about a deal involving Nisbet and Doig with Griffiths plus cash coming our way. If, as it seems they are not taking up the year extension, Griffiths isn’t theirs to to use as a makeweight in any deal.

Even if we got £1 million for Porteous and had to pay £400,000 or so for Kerr we will have made a sizeable profit and I don't think we'd be weakening our side much (potentially improving it going on Kerr's form since January).
