Ignoring any players leaving for now...what do people think we need to add?

I’d fancy a new spine. A commanding centre midfielder and another who can unlock defences (unsure if Scott Allan will ever get back to his best)

Wouldn’t mind a new CB as well, Jason Kerr would be my shout.

The above is obviously unlikely until we sell a few which will no doubt happen.

Jason Kerr and Campbell are the 2 most important players we could get right now. Everything else depends on who goes. The young lad we signed Mackay will sort out the left side of midfield.

Na that’s nonsense. He’s really not that good a player. One of those who seems to get better the longer he’s been away.

I’m certain we won’t but I wouldn’t want him anywhere near our team. Good attitude but thats about as good as it gets with him imo.

    Athleticism.

Our team have very little of it imo. A couple of players who can get about in midfield, a centre half with a bit about them physically and a striker with real pace.

Other than that, either use Scott Allan or get someone with a bit of a maverick side in them to replace him.

Completely agree with that. Would be superb signings if we could get them in

I’d have settled for one of two actual spines last weekend !

Absolutely. I'm admittedly pessimistic about our chances of signing either, although Kerr could be a possibility should we lose Porteous. Campbell is almost certainly destined for the Championship, or maybe even the MLS.

Pace, energy and athleticism is a must as we only have about 2 players that have it.

Yea definitely need a couple who aren’t afraid to carry the ball forward and try beat a man, feel out with maybe Boyle and Murphy we don’t really have anyone who can take on and beat a man

I think you're right. We've needed more natural mobility, particularly in midfield, for years now. This squad is better than the Vela-Mallan-Allan combo, but we're still lacking.

I know his cup final performance has cemented a lot of people's opinions about him, but I'm still of the opinion that Jackson Irvine provides some of that, particularly with a full pre season behind him.

Mackay is a promising start on this front. Replacements for Mallan, Wright, and potentially Hallberg might be our next opportunity to improve this area.

I like Irvine too and still hope we sign him. For whatever reasons though it doesn’t work with Newell, who appears to be a preferred starter for Ross.

Some bizarre chat on the Aberdeen forums. They think they are getting Boyle for £300k plus Matty Kennedy

Bit strange seeing as there's a £500k clause.

After seeing Kennedy lately , I think including him would make that 600k plus Kennedy !

He was the best out of our midfield trio that day which also contained Allan and Docherty!
Sodje was the best of our strikers under Calderwood.

With the Aberdeen fans I think some are guessing they’ll pay St Mirren 300k plus Kennedy for McGrath, not Boyle.

I really think like Jamie McGrath I think he has been one of the best midfielders in the League this season. He has only got 1 year left on his contract. I think it would be extremely difficult for us the sign Campbell and I think McGrath a more realistic prospect of signing and would improve our current midfield. Imo

Games I have seen McGrath he has had next to no influence. Certainly knows where the goal is though a lot of goals are pens

Really can't see Kerr leaving this summer after captaining Saints to two cup wins and a Europe campaign to play in

Three reasons why I'd love to have the buzz-bomb Omeonga back.
