Exactly, he doesn't say he wants to move on just unhappy with game time, typical rag though trying to cause unrestThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

He is very much part of the plans of Jack Ross and has played well when selected.
Contracted for another year so Hibs can choose to sell him, let him leave for free or keep him.
I reckon Jack will want to keep him more than he wants some of the other midfielders.
Hallberg along with Gogic, Newell and Irvine are generally our three midfield plus the sub.
Ross will also be keen on Magennis kicking on next season given we shelled out for him.
Think a few of the others may move on in the summer.

The Sun - "Hibs in turmoil ahead of cup final as Jack Ross dilemma over cup final selection rumbles on".
Reality - Mrs Ross has accidently put some of Jacks outstanding cup final clobber on a 4 hour spin cycle instead of a 30 minute delicate quick wash.

I’m sure both he and the manager have discussed this.

Their story has our attention so why not our detractors/opponents? we will dismiss it but many more will be eager to read it.
Only three of the top SPFL teams are newsworthy in the context of this season.
The St Johnstone team don't have players that are in demand so there isn't anything to make up a story about whereas Hibs do, so we are fodder for a company who have to sell words to keep them going.
When you accept that these outlets would sell their own family to get something to write about, their words carry less meaning.

I like Hallberg and think he's been valuable part of the squad, but of course he wants to move on. It'd be weird if a player his age was okay with starting so few games. The Sun being sensationalist *****bags? Who'd have thunk it.
Scott McMann would be a good addition from what I know of him.

Once again a totally nothing story from that rag. What should be a positive build up they print negativity!

I'm positive i read on here or in the press several weeks back that Hallberg was looking to leave at the end of the season. I've had it in my head from somewhere recently, so maybe not a bombshell.

If we were to keep Irvine next season then Hallberg would probably find himself 6th or 7th on the list for a place in midfield so makes sense that he would consider moving on if he wanted to be starting week on week as he’s unlikely to be doing that with us.
Hardly earth shattering stuff like it’s been made out to be

For all he's a nice player, I'm not sure Melker Hallberg is capable of anything remotely bombshell-like.

Louis Moult released by Preston, hasnt been great there but really liked him at Motherwell - 50 in 98 games overall, would be a ready made (and free) replacement for Nisbet if he goes...

Aberdeen have got rid of their head of recruitment and have a new DOF in place. Hopefully they can scout their own targets now!

It's a bit of a misnomer that the press can unsettle teams before big games with these type of stories. Especially in this day and age where newspapers are held in so little regard.
What it will do is annoy fans and get them to click on the story online and talk about it. In this instance it's job done.Last edited by Since90+2; 20-05-2021 at 04:30 PM.

Mmmmmm just have a look at Mark Walker's previous articles................."Rangers ace........", "Rangers starlet"....................then "Celtic flop...."....."Celtic misfit"..................and on and on and on..............
The Sun's only positive contribution in the last year was when there was a toilet roll shortage and panic buying of Andrex
As an aside, spoke with a few contacts involved in the prep for the game and the players are on top top form this week
