    29/1/2000 Scottish Cup Round 3

    Hibernian 4 v 1 Dunfermline Athletic

    K Miller
    Brebner
    Murray
    Collins

An easy victory for HIBS on a wind swept Easter Road

Young Kenny Miller was alert and rushed into the box to head home the opener after only two minutes

Matty Jack gave Dunfermline a lifeline after 30 minutes when he was uncharacteristically short with a pass-back and could only watch in horror as David Graham waltzed around Colgan to fire home the equaliser

Grant Brebner eased the hibee nerves just before half-time when he restored HIBS’ lead

Second half and HIBS gave a debut to young Ian Murray who scored with his first touch firing home from close range after a Kenny Miller effort had been blocked on the line

HIBS now stepped up the pressure as the wind increased and it was obvious that poor Dunfermline were being outclassed

Derek Collins scored his first goal for the club to complete an easy victory when he lobbed Pars keeper Mampaey with only minutes to go

    29/1/1955 Scottish League Division One

    Hibernian 2 v 3 Clyde

    Ormond 37
    Reilly 52

A small crowd of 15000 in the dark cold days of January turned up to witness a below par performance and the last game the legendary forward line would ever play together as a unit in the League.

John Buchanan and arch nemesis Tommy Ring x 2 would score for Clyde

The match ended with the sound of boos ringing in the players ears as they left the field of play

    Albion Rovers 0 v 3 Hibernian

    Plumb 26
    Smith 41 81

Hibs with a strong wind at their backs took the lead when Jock Stein was short with a pass back and Angus Plumb took advantage waltzing around the Rovers goalkeeper to slot home

Gordon Smith then took command with a run and strike that happened so quickly that the Rovers keeper never even moved

HIBS then contrived to miss a penalty when Cairns struck the outside of the post

A third goal arrived in the last 10 minutes when Smith doubled his tally putting HIBS firmly at the top of the League
