Not that we had any reason to think that there was, but factcheckers have confirmed that BLM/Antifa did not storm the Capitol last night. Quite incredible that factcheckers have to waste their time on such ludicrous statements from certain key Republicans.

Sometimes you just have to say it as it is. As our FM did with the BBC and Steve Bannon at the time. This was just over two years ago, but is it a lesson which the Tories will ever learn?

Not sure if it is because DC isn't a state that's may be why they had to ask? Then other states governors mobilized theirs.

I can understand why it's not, but am interested in why some want it.

Politically it’s purely because it would be a guarantee of two safe Democrat seats.

That would straight away be 4 Democratic Party senators.
For me, I’ll hark back to the founding of the Republic and the Boston Tea Party.
No Taxation, Without Representation.
Imagine if Britain had given the colonies MPs to sit in Parliament in London. A whole different ball game.

Last night's events were like a really bad episode of Designated Survivor.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

I hate to think what could potentially happen at Biden's inauguration. If some nutjob Trump supporter does something horrific at that then you really have to wonder where America is going to end up.

That would be the most logical thing to do.
Hence the reason it won't ever happen.

Yes, he would explode, but he'd move to Gab or somewhere else. His followers would go with him and ditch Twitter. News outlets would continue to report his words thereby giving publicity to the new platform and millions would join it globally to enjoy the car crash, if nothing else.
Trump has probably been good for Twitter.

I like the constant barrage of stories about White House Staffers resigning.
Well, yeah, they only have two weeks left in their jobs so it's a rather obvious thing to do. I wouldn't read too much into it (like they've suddenly developed a conscience or a sense of right and wrong).
This is deserting the sinking ship time

Pelosi calls for the 25th Amendment to be used and if Pence doesn't do that, then congress will likely move forward with an impeachment.
His days are numbered.

"No the f*** you will not! No masks, no you, no Biden the kid raper, no vaccines...sit your fraudulent ass down...we the ppl bitch!"
This was in response to a tweet talking about Biden and Harris' plans.
Commonashsense was her Twitter account. It's horrendous.
Personally, the person I have sympathy for is the poor cop who was forced to shoot. I have no sympathy for any terrorist who is killed in the process of committing their crime.

Pelosi - Trump gave Putin "his biggest gift yesterday" and "our country is a difficult place with Trump in office". Not holding back. Brilliant.
