Same here, one of the most rewarding periods of my life was spending 6 months almost alone on a mountain top on West Falklands.

I'd choose to change history myself. Wisdom and knowledge doesn't exclude the possibility that someone is selfish or power hungry. I'd play it safe.

Would you rather travel forward or back to a chosen point in time?

I’d rather travel back because at least the knowledge I have now could prove useful. In the future I’m not sure that would be the case. If I couldn’t have any influence on proceedings I’d prefer to travel forward just to see how nature had healed herself.
Would you rather be able to cure all illnesses or control the weather?
