I watched one of the videos. What struck me was that they all sat around, taking notes with pen and paper. None of that iPad ****.![]()

Not a new album by about 39 years, but a lovely new 3cd re-release for The Scars one and only album ‘Author! Author!’ with tons of extra tracks, demos, some rough live recordings. It was released yesterday.
Really good effort from Cherry Red Records, mine arrived yesterday and Tim Burgess held one of his listening parties for the album last night which was great fun with narration on the tracks from (mostly) Paul and John from the band.

If it’s not your style of music, then it’s not, but I think the album has really stood the test of time well and sounds good even today.
And ‘All About You’ was the catchy melodic top ten hit that never was. Check out the great video of YouTube, some great scenes, including the old Waverley Station with the big red plastic seats which I remember well.

New Laura Veirs album My Echo sounding good. Better than The Lookout which was a bit disappointing.

I don't know if Shaka Ponk are known in the UK. They're a French electro-rock group who are celebrating 15 years together by releasing a triple album.
Most of their stuff's in English and a lot of it's excellent. They're also renowned as a live act & for their videos.
Maybe a good wee discovery for some of you.

Not that new, been out 6 months I think, but Cornershop’s “England Is A Garden” is very good IMO.

11 years old is obviously not new
but today I've discovered that the Manic Street Preachers actually made another great album after Everything Must Go - Journal For Plague Lovers. Can't believe I've never noticed it before now but I just got so fed up with their non-stop anthemic stuff a long time ago.

I've recently been listening to Sex,Death and the Infinite Void by a band called Creeper, for fans of Alkaline trio and My Chemical Romance.
Also Misery Never Forgets by Wristmeetsrazor, this is for fans of very aggressive Metal/ Hardcore.
First post, hello everyone! 👋

Gary Barlow has a new album/single out
The single “This is my time” could have been recorded by Prefab Sprout, from the Andromeda Heights album

Save the World by the Queers, first new album in 10 years and after a career spanning nearly 40 years their brand of Ramones meets Beach Boys punk rock is still as catchy, childish, offensive and raucous as it has always been. Top marks.
Now begins the hard task of finding this on vinyl.

Poor and Infamous by Swedish band S.cumdog Millionaire. Blistering punk rock n roll and clearly influenced by the Scandirock bands of the 90s like Turbonegro, the Bones, hellacopters etc.

Not a new album but Kevin Rowland's "My Beauty" has been given a expanded re-release, with journos reviewing the music rather than the cover this time round.

Not an album, but a bit of Breton trad/funk for anyone remotely interested. The video's a nod toward a Breton who became a fairly well known New York gangster in the 1920s.
