His response wasn't particularly subtle but perhaps he meant it not to be. All politicians know how to dog whistle and Sturgeon was doing the same thing here, she's extremely good at it. He's a muppet for diving into the obvious response with both feet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ben Bradley is just far less subtle and far less accomplished at his version of it. He's not a serious threat, he's a clown who has managed to do almost as much damage to the Tories this week as Marcus Rashford.

Having been into my own kids' primary school on more than one occasion as part of a parents in school day, which included eating lunch with the kids, I'd say the quality of the meals on offer ranges from near inedible (cold, unsalted macaroni!!) to very tasty (good pizzas and sausages).

You make many thought-provoking and valid points relating to the independence debate.
This isn’t one.
Much as you want it to be true, it just isn’t.

Hancock was asked this morning if Johnson had replied to Rashford's recent letter - Hancock said there had been "communication" between the two. It's now been confirmed that the last such communication from Johnson to Rashford was in June.
Why not just say "I don't know"?!? It's not as though folk wouldn't accept that, as Health Secretary, he might have other priorities. It's like some of them have an addiction to deceit; having spent so much time lying, they've forgotten how to tell the truth.

You're kidding yourself. She is an excellent communicator and she doesn't say anything accidentally. It was actually worded precisely to allow different people to take from it what they wanted. That's what a dog whistle is.
She said this: "This is a virus that obviously travels across borders very easily and I suspect over the summer we did get very close to elimination in Scotland and then, not entirely, but we’ve reseeded it from travel across the UK and internationally so border control I think is an important consideration here"
She could have said this: "This is a virus that obviously travels very easily and I suspect over the summer we did get very close to elimination in Scotland and then, not entirely, but we’ve reseeded it from travel within Scotland, across the UK and internationally so travel control I think is an important consideration here"
If I want to hear the UK bit then that's what I hear. If I want to hear the international bit then I hear that. Her implication with the rUK part is not in this instance anti-English, it is that the RUK (Johnson and his Govt) let us down or we might have beaten it.

So to be clear then you think she is right in what she said? That the virus has spread from across the UK and abroad. But as you are at pains to point out at every given opportunity, Scotland is part of the UK. She is 100% correct, border control, both ways, could have prevented further spread. Unfortunately border control was out with the Scottish government remit.
The only dog whistling I see here is from you. As you pointed out, if you want to hear the rUK bit you will, and that is exactly what you have CHOSEN to do

Re: the first paragraph, what is he suggesting he would do (if not hope to get the decisions right and "let them do their thing") if they weren't playing well?!? Does he start coaching them? Sub them off?

"It's been reported that some of our other MPs did take part". It's a matter of record that all your MPs not only took part, but voted against it.

I took it to imply that in the presence of great players he could stand back and just try to officiate the game. But in their absence perhaps it was incumbent on him to become the star of the show.

Just watched Scottish Questions. Corona really is a wet dream for opposition politics. They can moan about absolutely everything without having to solve anything themselves. One Tory even had the brass neck to criticise the Scottish government's lack of finacial support towards business and the lack of Scottish investment in a vaccine. Where do they find these clowns?

"Amoy, owned by Heinz, has 58% of the £29m market according to research company Euromonitor International. Its soy sauce is made in China and bottled in the UK so the UK-Japan deal will have no impact. But the tariff payable on soy sauce imported from China will come down slightly from the 7.7% it was as part of the EU to the UK's new rate of 6%."Mon the Hibs.
