"Ten times" is perfectly adequate context to illustrate the fact that the policies you're so fond of don't come without consequences. How do those infection rates compare to early March? Didn't take long for that to turn into 60,000 dead huh? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Scotland rolling 7 day average of people in hospital with C19 - 404
0.007% of the population
England rolling 7 day average of people in hospital with C19 - 1864
0.003% of the population
Are those figures right, I’ve just read them but unsure of the validity. Anyone comment?

We need to be very careful when comparing numbers - and I include both UK and Scot Govts in that warning.

What irked me when I heard of the conditional £1K was that it had not been mentioned, I felt Sunak was better than that

"We bet on red. And it came up black. The Germans were lucky. They had lots of machines lying around and a system in place. We had next to nothing.

The luck of those Germans eh, with their well funded health system and government who fortuitously had contingency plans in place.

I've always been worried by the high number of new cases in England as they open up much quicker than us. So it was good to see that the number fell by 29% last week.

FM doesn't seem too concerned by the jump in cases, as she says it's still a small number dispersed throughout the country so we can assume it's just a variation on the day to day figures.

The 18 cases aren't really concentrated in one area either (6 in Glasgow, 4 in Lothian, 2 in Grampian, Lanarkshire and D&G, and 1 each in Ayrshire and Fife). Hopefully just an anomaly and it'll drop down again tomorrow.
