Yup. If they spend their money even semi wisely then their goalie should have very little to do. So surely you’d go for a competent goalie and better outfield players.
A good keeper doesn't just have to make great saves to prove his worth though mate. It gives the whole team a confidence especially at the back. Get your spine off the team right, starting with your keeper then your more than half way there

They clearly expect another season of mediocre to scheidt outfield play so have signed Gordon as a safety net!

Find the signing astonishing on two levels.

CG said over the weekend he wanted to test himself against the top strikers. Well, that won't happen in the second teir. No chance of that.

Also, how on earth can they afford this? They appear to be on a reckless spending spree. Again. Hell mend them!!

    They deserve to go bankrupt.

JA and his pals seem content to continue chucking money at it till Budgie finally finds a winning formula.

    UEFA FFP ?

Hearts revenue = £8 million thy Spend £9 million . JA steps in cheque for £1.2 million ….. all OK £200 yearly profit.

Is this not financial doping against UEFA FFP

Man City challanging a two year ban for alleged inflating sponsor deals so revenue is higher .

How do Hearts work around this, not a one off donation as JA has done this yealy or surely Shiek Monsur Man City would do it

I know figures may be incorrect but the context is .

I could be wrong but I've read that FFP doesn't come into play with our league?
They have no scruples and are really showing their class these past few months

I doubt Gordon is on a very high wage at Hearts. He'll have made a good whack from the game and I suspect he's more interested in getting a start every week than anything else.

Because they are not in Europe though it is galling I think that a league where in effect two out of the top four or five teams are liquidated that there are still as far as I know no meaningful or any financial fair play rules.

"I feel there's a project starting here," claims Gordon.

Does he mean the "project" that started six or seven years ago and is now on its umpteenth re-boot?

Footballers do say some daft/meaningless things designed to get them on side with the fans when they come back to a club. "I feel I've got unfinished business here" is another one. If that's really the case why do they want to leave in the first place?

Who cares who they sign? I won't be losing sleep over a team in a different division signing a washed up 37 year old goalkeeper.

Sure do. They'll be desperate to add that to their honours list next to the 1962 league cup and WW1/2.

Be a big crowd for that.
Actually we may not have a u21’s next season anyway.
I take it Hearts won’t be able to enter their u21’s into the tournament seen as their first team is in it?

They will probably take it to court if they aren't allowed to enter both teams...

Only the big teams get to enter their colts. Hearts will need to play their full team

As long as he can keep fit, Gordon could be a decent signing.

I realise he's 37 but goalkeepers tend to have a longer career than outfield players, e.g. Dino Zoff was 40 y/o when he captained the Italian side to a World Cup win in '82

    Another good example.

I think he was in his late 30s when he was with Hibs but then signed for Aberdeen and retired at about 42.
