For the cup, I’d imagine you’re right but it could end up with a strange situation like the example I gave or even Docherty scoring the winner against us.
Is Docherty one of the signings Hearts were talking about or have The Rangers managed to find a loop hole back into the Scottish Cup ?! 🤔

Think I heard at the weekend there was an Spfl board meeting yesterday and they would possibly then deliver what they thought to a clubs meeting today. Whether that is correct at all or whether anything is ratified today who knows.

On another point I wonder how the spfl board deal with decisions where some of the board members would have an obvious conflict of interest given they are primarily if not totally Donkey aside made up of club representatives.
The lower league clubs (Championship, L1 and L2) have voted to finish the leagues as they stand.

If that's the case then Hearts are goosed.

A player can only play for one club in a cup competition-that won't change regardless of when the remaining matches are played.

Oh aye 😂 just a wee flaw.

Same principal but use a different player then.

Teams might not have enough players available.

Is it a majority vote? Not very fair that Patrick have a winnable game in hand to keep them up. Can’t believe that wouldn’t come into the argumen?

They'll call the season. Only question will be which system they use. Leave as is or use a super-computer (as they did in the old days for Pools Coupons).

Or they could also feed all the data into Football Manager and show the games play out on Sky

If United are going up and reconstruction isn't on the cards, as per the article, then hearts are down surely.

Absolute joke if Hearts stay up. Why would they even consider reconstruction? It’s not even been mentioned for a long time, so if it’s just to keep them up, it’s a disgrace. They’ve been mismanaged & been the worse team by a mile over the last 12-18 months.

I think it just means form championship and below they have a clear view with United going up but haven’t decided on premiership yet.

If United are going up and no league reconstruction then the Bambi’s are going down down down.

Why should Hamilton be forced into a play-off. They could argue that St Mirren are in danger of being relegated. Where would that end?.

I think that Dundee United will be promoted.

They will then have some kind of a play off between those that could still have been promoted / relegated part or play off as part of pre-season to determine who are in SPL or Championship. Those that were mathematically most likely will have more play off rounds to negotiate (Hearts)

Not saying I agree with it but it's probably not out with the realms of possibility. More likely than league reconstruction that keeps getting mentioned IMO.

No chance can I see that, clubs need to know well in advance what league they are planning for as it will impact budgets etc and player targets. Needs decided and will be well before Pre season

If Partick are getting relegated then Hearts should be relegated. Surely it's only a matter of time until it happens.

I heard something yesterday saying that the post-split fixtures will be binned and the season will end once teams play their remaining fixtures, meaning Hearts have 3 games to save themselves

That would need them to create a rule that wasn't in place at the beginning of the season which no clubs were playing to and would surely leave Hamilton with a legal challenge?

Mind you an arrangement like this would be purely to accommodate the thieves and since they managed to fiddle the 5 way agreement through anything's possible in Scottish football.

It’s not because it’s Hearts that I’m annoyed, but there’s a very good chance they’ll bounce straight back up. Hamilton, Ross Co etc, their goal every season is survival. It would be very damaging to them. Hearts are bottom for a reason. They’re the worst team in the league. Take your punishment without the embarrassing legal threat.

Suspect the reason they're dealing with the Prem differently is to allow them to come to their own inevitable conclusion through discussion ..

Option 1 - Wait for what could be months until games are allowed again, with no financial payout from the SFA/SPFL, running the real risk some clubs going bust (incl Hearts & Sevco)... only to end up with the same likely outcome - Celtic win the league, and Hearts get relegated. That could be extremely costly to many Prem clubs, just to give Hearts and Sevco a straw to clutch to.

Option 2 - Hearts and Sevco accept the inevitable, lifeline payouts are made to all clubs, tell UEFA to STFU and get on with planning for next season, selling season tickets etc. Hearts might be offered some money to take their medicine and avoid any costly legal challenge. This is probably the best that Budge can expect at this point and I suspect she'll accept it and sell it as some kind of moral victory to Hearts fans.
