The truth is, that man is going to have an awful lot of blood on his hands. He has totally screwed this thing up and the deaths in America are going to be high. Will they remember when it gets to the polls? Probably not.

    It’s typical Trump.

Thinks about something for a nano second, gets a gut feel based on not very much at all then spouts his ‘wisdom’ on a subject.

He does it all the time, even when he’s been shown evidence to the contrary or told explicitly the opposite....doesn’t matter to him as only his thoughts count.

They are good thoughts, really good thoughts, good, good thoughts. I can tell you they are beautiful thoughts. Sleepy Joe and Crooked Hillary, they are interesting, really weak. Weak.

We have big ideas about this. I mean big, big ideas. Beautiful ideas.

I have done deals. Amazing deals.

By the way, I have many friends. Believe me, I've been hearing amazing things, beautiful things. A lot of people tell me things.

I've seen this and I've sort of witnessed it - in fact, in two cases I have actually witnessed it.

    That's just what I heard.

    Aha thats pretty damn accurate!!

I see he landed another whopper today...immediately after telling the reporter he knew South Korea better than anyone he suggests Seoul had a population of 38m...a mere 28m over statement!

So he overbiglied the number a bit. He's still great at math though - his uncle was a scientist.

Think he got mixed up with elevation and population, he will deny saying it at next press briefing.

330 million people locked down with only about 393 million guns between them, being brainwashed by religious zealots and hoof****ing bungle****s to blame China and their closest ally Satan for the deaths of what will probably be tens of thousands of god fearing Americans. In all honesty irrespective of who is in charge over there trying to tell lots of Americans what they can and cannot do even if it means people dying is like pissing in the wind i imagine to a certain extent.

Trump is such a dick. American health officials saying everyone should wear face mask and he immediately stresses it's voluntary and he won't be joining in.

I love politics. The machinations and the process to get elected. Then the dirt and grind to actually enact what you want to to do.

Mario Cuomo was a big hitter for the Democratic Party in the eighties and early nineties. In the book and film ‘Primary Colors’ he is barely disguised as a character and he is the one that the also barely-disguised Bill Clinton character fears running against in the primaries.

A strong NY Democrat brings the massive electoral college votes available in New York. A prudent choice of running mate and you have a strategy for winning the election

Andrew Cuomo, current governor of New York State, is getting a ton of good press for how he is dealing with corona virus in NYC, where it seems to be exacerbated in terms of numbers and deaths

There was always talk about a Cuomo run for the presidency, it used to be Mario, but Andrew is now being talked up. A lot will depend on how the virus plays out, but if it settles I wouldn’t rule out a vote from the floor at the party convention, drumming up support for Andrew. He wasn’t in at the start so he would have to be a floor vote.

Admittedly I am not up on rules for how the Democratic Party nominates candidates but from memory, there is the usual primary process, but still the opportunity to nominate and vote from the floor at the time of the Convention. I know a couple of folk who post on here have actually been involved in the work around campaigning during the Democratic primaries and then the actual election. Any insight would be welcome.

No insight to offer but let's hope that even if Cuomo isn't rewarded for having 'had a good war', the current Prick-In-Chief is punished for having had a bad, very bad, one.

"An Open Letter to the president"
From the Drummer of Mötley Crüe, Tommy Lee

    Dear ****ing Lunatic,
At your recent press conference - more a word salad that had a stroke and fell down stairs, you were CLEARLY so out of your depth you needed scuba gear. Within minutes of going off air your minions were backpedaling faster than Cirque De Soliel acrobats... In India a week ago, i couldn’t get past the bit about your being the most popular visitor in the history of ****ing india — a country of a BILLION human souls that’s only 3000 years old, give or take.!!! Trust me - Gandhi pulled CROWDS.. You pulled a cricket stadium and half WALKED out...
Do you know how ****ing insane you sound, you off-brand butt plug? That's like the geopolitical equivalent of “that stripper really likes me” — only 10,000 times crazier and less self aware.
You are ****ing exhausting. Every day is a natural experiment in determining how long 300 million people can resist coring out their own assholes with an ice auger. Every time I hear a snippet of your Queens-tinged banshee larynx farts, I want to scream!
We are ****ing tired. As bad as we all thought your presidency would be when Putin got you elected, it’s been inestimably worse.
You called a hostile, nuclear-armed head of state “short and fat.” How the **** does that help?
You accused a woman — a former friend, no less — of showing up at your resort bleeding from the face and begging to get in. You, you, YOU — the guy who looks like a Christmas haggis inexplicably brought to life by Frosty’s magic hat — yes, you of all people said that.
You attempted — with evident ****ing glee — to get 24 million people thrown off their health insurance.
You gave billions away to corporations and the already wealthy while simultaneously telling struggling poor people that you were doing exactly the opposite.
You endorsed a pedophile, praised brutal dictators, and defended LITERAL ****ING NAZIS!
Ninety-nine percent of everything you say is either false, crazy, incoherent, just plain cruel, or a rancid paella of all four.
Oh, by the way, Puerto Rico is still FUBAR. You got yourself and your family billions in tax breaks for Christmas. What do they get? More paper towels?
Enough, enough, enough, enough! For the love of God and all that is holy, good, and pure, would you please, finally and forever, shut your feculent KFC-hole until you have something valuable — or even marginally civil — to say?
You are a fried dick sandwich with a side of schlongs. If chlamydia and gonorrhea had a son, you’d appoint him HHS secretary. You are a disgraceful, pustulant hot stew full of casuistry, godawful ideas, unintelligible non sequiturs, and malignant rage.
You are the perfect circus orangutan diaper from Plato’s World of Forms.
So **** you Mr. President. And **** you forever.
Oh, and Pence, you oleaginous house ferret. **** you, too. You'll be as useful as a chocolate teapot against a medical crisis you Bible thumping cock socket."

The fried dick sandwich with a side of schlongs was my highlight.

Generally speaking I'm not a fan of open letters as about 99% of those I have ever read have been written by Shaun Lawson.

This one is a masterpiece and correct with every point.

In the least surprising news ever, it turns out one of the investment funds that Trump personally has a stake in invests heavily in one of the drug companies that produces Hydroxychloroquine the drug Trump is pushing as a treatment for Covid-19, against the advice of his medical advisors and based on nothing more than anecdotal evidence of some benefits.

While I get the story and as you say hardly surprising I was left wondering just how much of Sanofi’s profits are driven by such a widely available drug.

In other words it won’t be doing them them any harm but I doubt it’s a huge driver of their bottom line.

I think it's available from generic manufacturers so it won't be a money-spinner for Sanofi. If Trump was really doing it for money, he'd have chosen a drug still under patent.

Exactly what I was trying to say but you’ve articulated it rather more succinctly

More of a case of him just being an idiot and spouting headline grabbing nonsense to try and pretend he had some sort of answer to the crisis rather than anything more cunning.
