Good news and hope he does well.
I've had time to get used to this move, I've calmed down a bit from my initial knee jerk response and wish the lad all the best at Hibs. He is a good player, one that I didn't like Hibs coming up against last season and so credit where credit is due. On top of that he chose Hibs above at least one other option he had and he has made the right choice, for himself but hopefully we can benefit some.

It's a shame but it's essentially become a self fulfilling prophecy.

Poster A makes perfectly reasonable post
Poster B doesn't like Poster A and accuses him of trolling
    Poster A defends himself

Thread off topic and becomes an argument about trolling

Poster C, "ah there's Poster A ruining threads again".

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - if people showed the same levels of respect towards opinions they don't agree with to those they do agree with then the threads wouldn't go off like this.
That may well be true in terms of self fulfilling prophecies, but those posters, poster A and his friend poster D who is never far away, have made rods for their own backs IMO. So difficult to have too much sympathy the times they are unfairly accused of trolling, again IMO.

Fair call Matty, as we were...

I agree with TH. Halkett is a superb player at this level and I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of other posters
He had a fantastic season with Livingston and I’m surprised he went over the road. I think it will be a season there then a move down south next season if he continues to improve. He’s a better player than the older rated Soutar while Berra is finished. Hearts play the same way as Livi too so it will suit his style of battering ram play.

Is Gregg Docherty likely to remain at Rangers this season or go out on loan again? If relations between both clubs appear to be thawing, with Rangers loaning is a player, would love for us to try and get Docherty If at all possible, although probably unlikely.

Delighted with that. Superb young winger.
I don't know much about this lad, can you tell me what type of player we are getting.

I would slightly disagree in that I wouldn’t go as far as “superb”. I’d say he’s decent enough and Hearts are about his level.

I can't. But I can tell you he's superb because he signed for Hibs.

If he'd signed for hearts he'd be a terrible signing.

His only option apart from L1 again would be a loan to a Prem side up here. Saying that regardless of much I rate the player I can’t see for the life of me us loaning two of their players.

Disagree, they would have been much better off looking at the South American market.

I don’t think you can loan two players from the same team (in the same division).

    superb
    /suːˈpəːb/
    adjective
    1.
    very good; excellent.
    "a superb performance"
synonyms:excellent, superlative, first-rate, first-class, superior, supreme, outstanding, remarkable, dazzling, marvellous, magnificent, wonderful, splendid, admirable, noteworthy, impressive, fine, exquisite, exceptional, glorious, sublime, perfect, of the first order, of the first water; More
    2.
    impressively splendid.
"the Bey of Tunis was building himself a superb mausoleum"
synonyms:magnificent, majestic, splendid, grand, impressive, imposing, awe-inspiring, breathtaking; gorgeous, choice, resplendent, stately; sumptuous, opulent, lavish, luxurious, deluxe; informalplush, ritzy
    "a superb diamond necklace"

Personally, I don’t think it appropriate to describe Mr. Halkett as any of the above. Competent, professional, useful are all accurate descriptions, in my opinion. I think it is the choice of superlative that people are disagreeing with.

Yes, because extreme polarised opinions stretched out one way or another are the only ones available, aren't they.

Correct, because if he were "superb" he wouldn't be signing for Hearts.

I can see that. Still think it’s bizarre arguing with fellow Hibs fans because your insistent that Hearts new signing is superb. And then to make the childish comment that our new signing must be superb because he is signing for Hibs. I just don’t get it. Perhaps I need another long break from this site (like many I know I have done).

Scotty Allan has signed again based on/despite being superb for us.

I wasn't going to bite because enough of this thread has been hijacked away from the focus of the title. However, I have to agree with you and something feels wrong about their posts, it's almost like they are trying to change this from a Hibs forum into an offshoot of Keekback. Something I find distasteful to say the least. We should discuss the merits of our players and leave them to discuss theirs.
