But to actually hope for a horrendous recession as the poster I responded to?Every gimmick hungry yob,

So you would say that denying a sometimes brutally repressed minority a legal political voice is a principle worth having? Who is winning from that principal right at this very minute? To me, it looks like rich powerful men in pin stripes and the abhorrent DUP. All SF members will be comfortable with that then?

Patel paid £5000 for 5 hours 'work' as a consultant on MOD contracts. Cutting bennifits left, right and centre, making over 75's pay for tv licences and pay her £1000 an hour. Makes me sick.

Sinn Fein split and Fine Gael's predecessors dropped abstentionism when they accepted the treaty in 1921.
Sinn Fein split again and Fianna Fail dropped abstentionism when they accepted the oath of allegiance in 1926.
Sinn Fein split again and the official IRA/Sinn Fein (became the Workers' Party, then Democratic Left) dropped abstentionism in 1970.
Even the provisionals dropped abstentionism to the Dail in 1986 precipitating yet another split!
So, if it's principled, sticking to it you're after, it's Republican Sinn Fein (Continuity IRA) you want.

Bit given the diffiiculty they had with dropping abstentionism to the Dail there is no way they would drop it for the British parliament.Every gimmick hungry yob,

Didn't take long for the home secretary to get her act together.

Before 310 jumps to her defence, I know this was happening, just the timing of it is great. For her. There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.
