Far to many writing off the new lads before they have even kicked a ball in anger really. Yes they have featured in some pre season games but give them a chance. Hardly been in the building a month and folk have them written off. They might be a massive success or let down but I will reserve judgement on that for a few months yet.

What I also thinks missing for some is who said all of these were signed to replace existing squad members? Maybe some were signed as good back up / on par with the likes of gray, the centre half’s etc? I get we all want quality players but we also need to be mindful of what that actually is at our level and budget. We lost the likes of Nelom, Mavrias, Johnson, Gauld, Allan, etc who all didn’t give us much in terms of a first team starters so I’d say the boys brought in are as a minimum to offer more than these which were signings of the previous recruitment where these lads seem to be PH signings.

Plenty time yet to bring in a couple of others and I’m sure we will.
The new lads have already been judged and written off by many experts SMAXXA. Why are you being so rational? They're hopeless can you not see that? Many said Adam Bogdan was the worst keeper they had ever seen at this stage last season and he turned out to be an excellent keeper imo.

What players from last season have we not replaced? McNulty? Omeonga? Bogdan? We have Scott Allan, Doidge, Vela, Maxwell. As you say now is not the time to judge.

So the transfer business is done which leaves us with a rubbish team:-

Marciano - voted best keeper since 2000

Gray - voted best RB since 2000, legend and leader of men

McGregor - strong experienced class defender that never gives the ball away

Hanlon - ball playing centre half and club legend, Hibs man

Stevenson - Scotland international, Mr consistency, club legend, won all the cups

Porteous - going to be best defender of the lot, future captain of Hibs and Scotland.

Boyle - Australian international speed merchant now one of our most important players

Allan - 3rd stint coming, previous 2 sensational. Oozes class.

Vela - Impressive CV, held in high regard from Bolton fans.

Slivka - full internationalist class footballer

Horgan - dynamic, improving, scored best goal seen at Tynie last season

Kamberi - others looking with a 2 million price tag. Proven player, big player on form

Fraser Murray coming through the ranks, Shaw with loads of potential

Not counting the new players still to get up to speed.

    ..... Rubbish
Why do so many fans miss out the midfielder with more goals and assists than anyone in the team?

There seems to be an unrealistic expectation that new signings will hit the ground running like they've always been here. Maybe different in the case of Scott Allan as he knows the club inside out but the other 6 lads were brought in early in the window for that reason. They need time to get settled at a new club, home, city and country! I think Doidge and James are sharing a flat together at the moment for instance which will be good for them. People forget players are only human and take time to adjust. I've been as frustrated as anyone with the two Betfed games but I'm willing to give this group a chance. They're only going to get better.

There is no way we're done. Hecky isn't an idiot.
I don’t think he will want to be seen as a failure up here so he must be pushing for more signings.

Because we take the views of PH more seriously than those who have barely seen 5 minutes of them?

Jack Grimmer who was rumoured to be signing for us earlier in the window has signed for Wycombe Wanderers

I'm liking the change in tone on this thread. Few more people saying wait and see. Certainly too many previous posters expecting instant success from the new players.

Personally been on holiday so not got along to watch the team in the flesh. Looking like I will be at the Newcastle game and the St Mirren one. Will see for myself how the squad is shaping up.

However, what a lot of people seem to be forgetting is that Heckingbottom wants to build a team / squad. He is looking to get players in that he can teach to play the game as he sees it. Apparently a lot of the players really enjoyed the emphasis in training on the tactic side once he came in.

Some players will take time to get it others not so much.

Instant success costs a lot of money and even then isn't guaranteed.

I am bothered by the attitude that at this stage in the season, actually it hasn't really started, we should be blowing the lower league teams out of the water. There would be no point to this league cup format if that happened. The format is such so as to give the lower league teams some kind of chance therefore hope. Without hope there would be no point. Its in all of our interest to strengthen football in all our leagues and generate more interest in our sport in our country. I say stop being selfish and look at the big picture and long run. The season is a marathon and not a sprint.

Plenty other sides currently involved in the league cup seem to be managing to sweep aside their lower league opponents with ease. Motherwell being one.

How many injured players do they have and how many youngsters are they breaking in. You said plenty then mention one? As I said it is a Marathon not a sprint. We will see which team accomplishes more this season Hibs or Motherwell.

Hibs should be blowing part timers like stirling out the water!it doesn't matter how you spin it.

The high press energetic football we where told would be a signature stamp of a heckingbottom side is not yet evident.and teams will come alot more prepared for the lethargic tired looking performances that has been reported by many so far.

At the point we are at we should be buzzing and raring to go but it feels a bit flat tbh.

The signings made have added no flair thus far.and they where first picks we are being told we where lucky to attract.and the only thing I can say of them by other peoples point of view is the signings mostly will be lucky to be in the first team.

I dont buy this early doors stuff.signs should be there.heckingbottom managed the alloa game well by making the right changes at h/t.but it was meant to be a dire watch.and spl teams will have us beat on that first half showing before changes are made.

I hope the new signings become more than sqaud fillers from mostly relegated teams.but lets not beat about the bush, the transfer window so far has been dissapointing.

Should we still turn up for games against Celtic and The Rangers? Huge budget vs small budget

Think we should keep him doubt he will go to many young players gone south and stalled their careers better of staying here imo

Can't possibly be interested in Oli Shaw. He needs to be put out on loan to some Scottish lower league part timers...

I'm assuming this would be permanent. If we get a decent offer he can go. I think there are better third choice strikers out there and we can't wait forever on him breaking into the first team consistently and performing well on a regular basis.

Presumably these ‘SPL’ teams who you refer to include the likes of St Mirren, St Johnstone, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen, Hamilton and Livi who have had equally uninspiring pre-seasons, cup campaigns? Why is it in your scenario they will have supposedly improved and gone up a gear by the time the league campaign starts but we won’t have?

Looked noticeably stronger in his brief appearance on Saturday. Would be good to see him start tomorrow night.

This the young lad who's just turned 21 a couple of months ago, yea waiting years on these Development players is bloody frustrating eh?

I think livingston, st mirren will be a considerable step up from stirling naw?

Btw you mentioned the teams, but I wouldnae fancy starting like that at ibrox second game or first derby in september like saturday.

You think we've done well in the market/pre season?

Well by 21 he hasn't cemented a first team place and doesn't look like doing so. He's been in the first team for a year and a half now. He hasn't featured as much under heckingbottom either. Don't know why you're being so arsey about it.
