Need another forward too. Don't want to be in the same situation last season with just three forwards. Shaw as a back up just doesn't fill me with confidence or seems like a player that can change a game for you.

Anyone know the situation with Brandon Barker ? Was reported Celtic were interested but that appears to have gone cold. 1 Year left at City with no chance of 1st team football there. Is he available to go out on loan ? Would love it if he came back here.

He's on record saying he won't ever be back. Sure it was in a DM to a fan.

We lost out on this player because circumstances changed, we ended up making a £125k offer plus a wage packed we thought was favourable for this player, Aberdeen offered more, we felt what we offered was enough for this particular player. It's actually good that Hibs have said that's our offer take it or leave it.
Everyone knows there's a few extra quid at Easter road now but that does not mean getting into a Dutch auction over a player only Aberdeen and Hibs seem to want?

In any case I have no problem with him talking to different clubs. He'd be daft not to.

If I was Ojo sitting in my Aberdeen hotel this morning still trying to make my mind up what to team to sign for I think reading all the guff that's been written on here since news of the story was given out late yesterday afternoon would tip the balance in the Aberdeen direction.
If he does not want to sign for us that's his decision .I am sure Hecky would not be disappointed if he never came now because as he said he only wants players to buy into his plans.

With any auction you have to know your limit. What you can afford. What the item is worth to you. Can you get the same elsewhere for less. When to stop bidding.

No point winning the bidding just for the sake of it.

Buyer's regret they call it.

You don't worry about the other guy outbidding you. They have weighed up the factors as they see it and bid more. Or they have panicked and overspent.

Time will tell who got the good deal.

Too much angst on here with people using it to have a kick at the club. Probably the same people who would have been on here having a go about signing some no mark from S****horpe if the original deal had quietly gone through without the circus that ensued.

Spot on. It's incredible how people who hadn't heard of this guy a few weeks ago are now intimately knowledgeable about every aspect of our offer for him. As for his agent playing a blinder, right! Because he's no longer a free transfer every penny the Sheep pay to Scunny is a penny less to Ojo. Time will tell.

The fact that Aberdeen can offer higher wages than Hibs is hardly new.

They have a much bigger revenue stream.

Others who have a bigger budget, are Celtic, Rangers and Hearts.

Generally speaking, players with no emotional attachment to Hibs or an attachment to Edinburgh, will sign for the team offering the most money.

Nature of the beast.

We move on and sign somebody those clubs are not interested in.

The coaches are telling the Board that they need an indoor facility to help develop these players.

Fair enough as part of a medium term plan but we need to find ways to grow income in order to compete with Aberdeen wage wise Will an indoor facility really develop better young players ? I have no idea only asking if the outlay at present would be the right priority

Don’t understand how his old club can’t be entitled to a sell on? We took advantage of a contract clause and got him for £100k, surely no other add ons were included?

He has started well scoring goals His stock will increase We really need to be keeping him this Season imo as with Allan Boyle and Horgan he will get back to his old self and we will make more money out him in the long run

They do aye, contracts typically run until end of JUNE/Early July in UK and players are paid right up until then. Usually paid monthly as well, but we still quote figures in weekly wages which i’ve often thought was odd.
