Tom Dowd and the Memphis Horns are all over my music collection. To hear those songs, which I loved first time around, in the way they were meant to be was such a treat.

Yeah just finished watching the Primal Scream Memphis documentary myself there - enjoyed it as well. Was interesting that the sound was changed because of being in the 90’s and McGee thought it needed to be a ‘smash’ album after Scremadelica. The Memphis recordings sound amazing to me!

I love Primal Scream and didn't know that this existed. That album always frustrated me because it had highlights and was nearly brilliant but didn't quite hit the mark. Hopefully this one now will.
Edit - sorry, didn't realise this thread had a 28th page.

I'm aware my recommendations are usually "niche" and don't appeal to the masses on here.
However.
I can't recommend Thrice's new album "Palms" enough. It'll appeal to most fans of rock and isn't at all heavy.

Liking The Fernweh’s self titled debut.
Probably sound a bit pretentious, but was recommended looking at a couple of small record labels (Vampisoul & Ace Records). They do a lot of the 60s beat girls sound from around Europe at that time. I love that sound and really interesting hearing the slightly different takes on the sound in other countries. I ended up buying 7 of the albums including the solo stuff of one of the singers.

Ian Brown's is good. We've heard very similar melodies from him before but it's got that individual sound.

I missed this when it came out at the end of last year but Dull Clunk by Garies is an amazing album. Been on constant repeat for me over the last couple of weeks, love it.

While She Sleeps' "So What?" is a perfect commentary on the current sorry state of this world.
Beautifully angry.
