A successful businessman who is a billionaire - he's probably reasonably smart to be fair to him. His mouth and fingers (tweeting) just don't always show it.
Not sure he's smart, he's certainly had a fantastic education and there's a large question mark over the subject of how good a business man he is. Apparently if he'd just put the money he inherited in a decent bank account he'd be just as well off today if not richer than he is now.

I've read that a couple of times. But I thought he was given $1m as a starter for his businesses - he's now worth $3.5bn. So I don't think it's true. Or I need to stop banking with HBOS and their 0.5% interest.
    Mon the Hibs.

While I’m all for poking fun at him, there can be no doubt that he’s a smart guy. You don’t get to be in his position by being an idiot. What he is, is a dangerous racist megalomaniac with the power to set the world back 50 years.
My point was the teenage like tweet, not something you'd expect from a grown man let alone the president.

Trump believes intelligence is proved by educational qualifications and IQ. That's why he regularly claims he's, like, really smart with an amazing IQ, higher than Obama, Bush, Tillerson, etc. although his actual IQ has never been published as far as I know. What completely fails to register with him is emotional intelligence - what it is and why it matters. In respect of emotional intelligence he is obviously exceptionally limited, and oblivious to his own limitations.

I reckon his IQ is seriously average if not below average...remember this

‘Face The Nation’ host John Dickerson tried to get Trump to muse on former George W Bush’s comment on how the Oval Office was round and therefore had no corners to hide in – meaning accountability always sat firmly at the President’s lap.
However, Trump failed to spot the metaphor and took it just a bit too literally. He said: “Well, there’s truth to that. There is truth to that. There are certainly no corners. And you look, there’s a certain openness. But there’s nobody out there. You know, there is an openness, but I’ve never seen anybody out there actually, as you could imagine.”

I mean WT actual F, what a moron, doesn't even understand what a metaphor is😂

Whilst Trumps opponents get excited about fake dossiers, smear campaigns, gossip and lies in a new book and throughout the bias left wing media.

The FBI investigates the Clinton Foundation... about time too.

I've no feeling either way whether Clinton may or may not be guilty, and similarly Ive no idea whether all the allegations about Trumps Russian links are true. The judiciary should be separate from the legislature in a functioning democracy but you never know whether there's political motivation at work.

None of which affects the reality of this massive bat**** crazy car crash of a presidency.

It does contain constant quotes to the extent that you'd question some of its veracity. In fairness.
Wollf does also say at the start that he has formed an opinion on what he believes the truth..

Up to the reader how much faith to put into its accuracy.

Theres a great amount of work being done by a criminal lawyer Called Seth Abramson who's been forensically analysing every single thing that's been coming out on Trump/Mueller since the start. Reckon his approach is right up your street!!
Hee spent last night reading and live tweeting his opinions on what was true, what is corroborate-able* (is that a word?!) etc.

Well worth a review of his output of he's unknown to you.

In the mean time, Ive been loving the endless Gilbert & Sulivan rewrites of the modern major general, to reflect Trumps "very stable genius"!
    Sometimes Twitter is golden!

    For eg
I am the very model of a stable genius president
    Improvident, incompetent, and wildly overconfident
I'm getting rich destroying the American experiment
Beholden like a puppet to a hostile foreign government

    (@alejandrobot)

I lie through my back teeth yet cry “FAKE NEWS” at mainstream media.
I claim the moral high ground, yet in me, there’s no one seedier.
I stare all day at my TV, longing for just a glimpse of me.
I am the very model of a narcissistic deity.

    (@mrnickharvey)

    Plenty more

    Eh no.

An allegation is a precursor to an investigation which determines if in fact they are true or false.

Sorry for the point of order

Dow Jones is over 25,000 points don't ya know!

The quoted reference was about investing the funds, rather than putting them in a cash bank account

I have my own high levels of scepticism, and prefer evidence based approaches over the "believe me, trust me" approach, but no, in the interest of an open debate, Im happy for the question to read as per the original!

    Cheers Jim!

Well your quite right, im thinking too far into the future as these allegations IMO will turn out to be false and therefore lies.

Grand - you're entitled to your opinion it, but theres a lot of claims /conjecture coming from the opposite view point.

Just wondering what information & evidence is helping form that opinion

The amount of allegations thrown at Trump so far and he hasn't been indicted yet. The bogus russian dossier, the talk of russian meddling in the election all the personal insults thrown at the president from the left makes me think this is just a continuation of false allegations.

I also don't think that Trump would have spent his money, repeat his own money (not donors money like the Clintons or Obama) on a presidential campaign unless he knew he was squeaky clean (well clean enough not to be prosecuted).

He didn't spend his own money.

He claimed at one time he'd spend a billion, then 100 million, then 50mil.

In the end, he loaned the campaign company 10 m on the basis of getting it back.

I'll source info if I can remember where I gathered this.
Ill try and avoid fire and fury references as I feel you might instantly rubbish them!!

  29. #628
Also, do bare in mind him offsetting these expenses against profits and reducing tax liabilities for trumpco and the benefit gained to his businesses while people rolled into his properties.

Id hazard a good guess that hes benefited from the campaign rather than it costing him. ( hands up, no evidence... as he didnt release his tax returns. -( first one in over 40 years))

Where are you getting this stuff? More than half of Trump's campaign funding came from donations.
