I remember growing up during the testy Cold War period and being aware of the issues and how we could have been close to war. I have a genuine concern that this ****ing conceited narcissist is going to drag us I to a major war, whether that is with N Korea or some Other country/countries that he has taken a dislike to. Where is Lee Harvey Oswald when you need him?
Probably set up some mentally sub-normal immigrant to appear to have burned down Congress as a first step.......

I was going to ask how much crazier and provocative can he get but I’m scared of the answer.

It’s only a matter of time before someone takes this guy out Kennedy style.
    Fingers crossed🤞🏻

Don't like the way this thread is going. An assassination makes the person a martyr and creates more division. Trump is a nutter and like all nutters who get a long rope, they hang themself. Hopefully he goes sooner rather than later.

Be best he leaves office in disgrace and leaves a message to future leaders than in a box as a martyr.

Did anyone hear the phone in on the Jeremy Vine show? The woman from Skye who said that he's being guided by the holy spirit left me utterly speechless.

Has anyone heard this Sebastien Gorka guy before? Ex Trump advisor doing the rounds of news studios and just being completely mad, ranting about not being able to walk the streets in Malmo because of muslim rapists and so on, BBC being propagandists of political correctness. The interview degenerated into shouting and had to be cut short. These people are nudging their way into the mainstream. I see the BF woman who was retweeted now has 75,000 new followers. Which maybe was the point all along?

The UK and Theresa May is his bitch and he knows it. Because of Brexit we are now at the mercy of the USA. May has no alternative but to pucker up and take what's coming her way from Trump. There'll be votes to be had for showing those damn limeys who's boss and he knows it. Expect more of the same soon.

I've seen Gorka loads of times, usually on Hannity on Fox News. Typical rent-a-gob, albeit his delivery has a knowledgable style, it infers that he has been brought on as an expert and what he says is lapped up by Trump's core support. Despite that, I was still amazed when he got a job in Trump's administration, less so when he lasted only for a short time.

He must have left his knowledgeable style at home, he sounded like he'd just had a ketamine sandwich. I remember when we thought George W was an extremist, some of these current kooks are from a different planet...

I don't know if Trump will be the next American president to be impeached ..... he could well be the first one to be declared mentally incompetent while in office

There is a story that Gorka's Hungarian connections got him the job. Carter Page and other Trump aides have made several trips to Hungary in the past 18 months and it's widely thought Hungary is a friendly territory for Russia. Basically a middle ground for meetings.

I'm not into conspiracy theories, which this may reek of. But the mainstream media are miles behind on the Mueller investigation, as you'll see today with the way Mike Flynns charges are reported. Seth Abrahmson is a great Twitter feed to follow to keep pace with this stuff.

Trumps former national security advisor Michael Flynn has plead guilty to making false statements to the FBI.

I sometimes wonder if the best thing to do would be to ignore him. He’s such a narcissist that without the attention he would lose interest and quit.

Only another three years of Trumpery to go - that's provided the Americans reject him and we haven't already been incinerated in our beds by that time.

I've never understood the "charm" of thick people that some folks seem to enjoy. I've always thought that the attraction of having thickos as chums was that it might make people feel secretly superior. I find my tolerance of ignorance has steadily declined the older I get.

I see the idiot is preparing to go it alone and recognise Jerulasem as the legitimate Israeli Capital sometime in the next week.

I can't see how anyone, regardless of their views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, can view this as anything other than rank stupidity. The effect on a peace process already hanging by a thread and the further instability it will cause in the region is genuinely scary.

Agreed, it's an act of staggering selfishness even by his established standards.

The problem is is he is not going it alone. I think this is one issue where he is being pushed along by the Evangelicals and Jews who are the firmest of friends and have long been so, at least at the administrative level of their respective faiths. When I first moved here I happened to see a program from the 80's (Reagan years) and the Evangelicals were pushing it then and promising to demolish the Dome of The Rock! And I recall Ted Cruz, one of the Republican candidates, in a 2016 town hall meeting just prior to his dropping out of the race being asked what are the five things he would do on first first day in office should he win. 'Move the capital of Israel to Jerusalem'. Although him having this thought did not shock me, I was surprised it was on his must do list on his first day in office.

I did not know that anyone actually believed there was a real 'peace process' going on. Israel's peace agreements in my mind have been modelled on the American 'peace policies' with the native American tribes. Perhaps not consciously but in effect. 'Sign the treaty' and before the ink is dry let more settlers move into the native lands and when the tribes fight back get involved to protect the settlers. Then have another peace treaty and so on and so on.

In the US government if you even propose that some defence intelligence contracts, held by Israel, are put out for tender it can end your career. Israel actually controls 100% of some defence intelligence areas here and is even responsible for over 80% of the cell phone billing, which is not carried out by the service providers. Check out AIPIC.

The power of the media and press here is oppressive and corrupt to extreme levels and it is no coincidence that both major parties constantly voice their strong and unwavering support of Israel.
