Sky and other options?

I recently took my Sky and Bt sports out. I was fed up shelling out money because I didn't feel that paying for the basic stuff just to have the right to get sports was fair or fairly priced.

However my situation is that I have saved cash but its catch 22 because i only ever got sky for the sports (at the time i was a single guy, living on my own with a career etc). Now i have my internet and phone with them too. I never use the house phone its just there because i have the line for the net.

Basically is there other options that are cheaper or better value? Could i have proper sports package and decent internet without shelling out what feels like a fortune every month?

I can't get virgin in my area and I'm not a fan of bt as their customer service is awful in my previous experiences.

Any advice would be welcome.
