I'm all set for the draft. Think we should stick to the 12 hours per draft pick though.

I agree DH - it's an easy balance between prolonged selection and the logistical issues of getting everyone in the same place at the same time.
It's hard to stitch my own back with these shaky hands
But even harder to accept the scars you left were planned

What did you all think of the suggestion on the PM, to try and get the first 2 rounds done together? It's something I don't think will take long and add an extra element to the draft.

I'd be up for trying to get the first couple of rounds done quickly, but I would need a couple of weeks notice to rota myself off.

To be honest though, I think the chances of getting all 16 of us available at the same time are pretty slim - and the price for missing out on the first two rounds is severe!

Not just a new page, we should have our own sub forum!

Would rather stick with the 12 hour thing but if every else wants to give a live draft a go then fine. It'll probably need to be a Sunday night for me though as can be a busy guy.

I'll be flexible during the summer months - being a primary teacher has its advantages

Must admit I do enjoy the offline draft - I think it's one of the things that make our league what it is!

I'm quite happy to go with the majority. Online draft sounds like a nightmare to organise as well.

While I realise that I am in the minority, I don't understand why people think it's a nightmare to organise. My work draft last year was completed in less than one hour. I know we all have different schedules but one hour to finish a draft seems very manageable. One key factor with a live draft, you have 30 seconds to complete your pick. If you don't make a pick in time then you are automatically given the "next best" pick as per the site's rankings. I said my draft was over in about an hour (I think it was half an hour) but there were one or two folks on auto-pick. Auto picks take no time at all so the draft flies through their picks.

The downside of an online draft is you have to be prepared. You can't analyse players during the draft, not with only 30 seconds per pick. I can see some people disliking that aspect of it. That said, I'm usually prepared, or as prepared as I can be. I don't do much research but I try to look for a couple of sleepers to pick up in later rounds. The first 100 or so players practically pick themselves. Unless I have a total stiffy for a player, "next best" is usually somebody I would take anyway. That's not going to work for you if you need an RB and the highest ranking player available on your turn is a WR. So again, I can see why some people dislike it. I would love to try a draft party but everyone I play FF with is spread far apart and that would be a nightmare (impossible) to arrange.

I'm in this year and will go through whatever draft we decide to go with. I think we should adopt the google docs spreadsheet approach as well since that makes for easier viewing (unless your smart phone can't view google docs).
