That's not true. How they are coached, their fitness, how they are set up and the system they play is down to the manager. Get the right backroom staff in and that team could be transformed within a month.
Correct, things winnae be fixed overnight just because Fenlon got the boot 2 days ago

Much more of the ball. No cutting edge though. Bad decisions in the final 3rd.

    Positives:
    Craig played at CAM

    Forster played really well.

    Jimmy made good subs.

Would have been a draw if not for a red card challenge

    Negatives:

    Our strikers

    Set piece defending

    lack of pace
Seemed to make subs at the right times too

Garbage. He's one of the most sensible users of the ball we have.
His crossing was terrible today, failed to beat the first man regularly and kicked it out of play a few times too. Not very sensible today.

    Agreed....pish poor player
Go on then, what did he do wrong?

From memory, 2 poor crosses into the box, other than that, what did he do wrong today?

we are a defender's food and drink constantly running and passing sideways on the edge of the box. They love that and hate anyone running into them.

    Rubbish result BUT good performance.

Should have had a draw but poor finishing cost us again.

We are never going to get anywhere offensively by relying on Stevenson to supply width his crossing and distribution is worse than a 10 yr olds, lost count of how many times he failed to deliver a decent cross!

Motherwell are sh!!te and they've beaten us twice now, IMO it's because of our lack of an attacking threat rather than them being worth a sook!

Better team but not enough creativity especially in wide areas but we know that already. Good performances from Foster, Robertson and Craig for me. Nichol gave the team much better balance by playing Maybury and moving Stevenson to left midfield. Whoever comes in has a decent squad but we need someone to partner Heff up front and a fit Harris. A new wide player in the window too as Zoubir has no pace and Handling looks out of the picture.

What was Fenlon thinking signing that dud Collins

How people on here can say we have a top 4 squad is beyond me.

He actually helps our midfield to hole much better shape when he plays on the left. His crossing is average but so is most of the rest of the team. He uses the ball sensibly most of the time, looking for a midfielder who can hit a pass or make a run and he rarely just punts it. Most of the time he finds a green shirt.

I think -like everyone else in the squad - needs to be given some slack and breathing space while we discover what a new manager can get out of them.

Unlucky the last 10/15 minutes I thought as we pushed up, great save from Heff at the death sums up our luck.

Motherwell irritate me with their constant moaning about non existent fouls, they were certainly hanging on at the end.

Still loads of work to do and I would like to see a few changes but we will just have to wait and see what happens.

I have no problem with the passing game - I love it - but you need to mix it up a bit. Was delighted to see Robertson run at them in the first half. And how many screamers from outside the box did Liam Craig score when at St Johnstone. Wish he'd have more of a go.

How often have we all moaned about not being able to pass 5 yards or take throw ins properly? That's not down to the manager

We were the better side in the opening match too but when you cannae defend a simple ball over the top... The laddie nearly scored an identical one today.

I think we have a decent squad; however, it's the complete lack of an outball to players with pace that kills a great deal of our attacks. We could have spent a little less on centre halves and midfielders to bring in at least one player who can beat a man with pace.

What did he do RIGHT today? Decent cover for LB but as a forward thinking player the guy's just a waste of a ****ing jersey.

So I see after 12 games James Collins has became the latest scapegoat

How was Sparky after 12 games btw?

He maintained possession well throughout the game and had 2 poor crosses the rest were dangerous. He also actually ran and cut inside which is a bonus. There are worse players just now than Lewis

IMO, his distribution is appallimg most days.
Don't rate Stevenson, but he's being asked to do too much creative work to make up for the our poor midfield.

  27. #386
Today was an improvement I'd say, tried to get the ball down and play. Unlucky to get beat I think. Lewis Stevenson was our best player today, really impressed in midfield.

There was no real cutting edge but the team had a better balance to it and there were encouraging signs of improvement.

You can say that about most of our midfield.

Craig screwed up plenty today, but I don't see him getting much abuse? Oh, forgot he did have one shot on target, he must be a superstar!!

I ain't a Stevenson fan, but the amount of times he gets singled out by the Hibs armchair masses just shows how much they don't know about football!

I think we know what we get from Stevenson. Decent defensively and a good reserve for LB, 100% every game.

That's it. He's poor going forward and never a wide midfielder.
