I'm far from being a Brady hater, he's like Marino or Aikman or Unitas, the best QB of his generation. (Probably shares it with Rodgers IMO). But if you consider the advantages hes got playing in the Patriots organisation with the passer friendly rules these days and the quality of his teammates, I dont think you can say hes seriously better than Montana or some of the older guys. I totally take on board TSSFs point about historical comparisons being tough to do, however.

Confused by some of the news, he wasnt a suspect, might now be, being sued by someone else but no charges... Very confusing.

Doesn't make for good reading at all, particularly given reference to another incident involving a handgun in February.

Though tell me, ESPN - how exactly can a bullet 'travel' from an arm to a person's head?

One thing's for sure, the Patriots won't be liking the exposure of associated circus - if he's found guilty, then good riddance.

Arrest warrant for Hernandez on 'Obstruction of Justice'.

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/aaron-herna...8#.UcRa5TvVCuI

Investigators want to know why Hernandez hired a large team of housekeepers to clean his house on Monday, the same day Lloyd was shot execution style. ooooffffttt!

Hernandez finally arrested, no charge declared yet.

    Been released by The Patriots.

Im hoping Tebow is released with him!

In all seriousness, Tebow has never shown a willingness to change position. He has also been signed as a qb according to the team

Good riddance. Undoubted ability but not the type of player I want to see representing us.

Even if he's innocent, we don't need the soap opera dominating our pre-season.

He'll get a few downs at TE, maybe a trick play or two when youre 20 points up against the Jags et al, and some special teams action.

With no Hernandez and Gronk still injured whos going to be your TE? And dont you often play a double set as well?
Hernandez Looks like a player you couldnt afford to lose.

Not sure Bollah. Bill is known to work magic to find hidden gems though.

FWIIW, I have never been a fan Tebow as a QB but he has, on paper at least, the skill set to be a great TE. He's agile, tall, strong and can run the ball. I have no faith in his ability to be a signal caller or his decision making skills. IF he makes the change then great but he has resisted it thus far.

Going to be interesting now to say the least.

Depending on his charges, he might not be short of givers or takers.

According to NESN, the Patriots made the decision to cut him last week if he was arrested.

I dare say they know that he's probably looking at time whether it's lengthy for murder (which looks possible) or simply obstruction, which still carries a term depending on the perceived severity.

Apparently we also have a plan to replace him but it's not being discussed right now (understandably).

Looks like prosecutors have some pretty hard up evidence implicating Hernandez. I was hoping that he had a great year this year for the Pats. He had appeared to have turned over a new leaf and got rid of his off-the-field issues, but I guess once a thug, always a thug.

We've struggled big time against Gronk and Hernandez. Massive loss for the IMO.

McCauley said Hernandez summoned his two friends, then drove to Fayston Street in Boston’s Dorchester section early on the morning of Monday, June 17, where Lloyd, a 27-year-old semipro football player, left his home, got in the car, and then rode south to North Attleborough.

Along the way, Lloyd alerted relatives in a text message, asking them, “Did you see who I am with?” After they asked who, he replied cryptically, “NFL,” the prosecutor said.

“Just so you know,’’ Lloyd added. It was the last text message he sent before he died, McCauley said.

Surveillance cameras in the North Attleborough industrial park where Lloyd was murdered captured the men arriving in the same silver Nissan that Lloyd had gotten into in Dorchester, the prosecutor said.

Once near a wooded area, Lloyd started climbing out of the car, and was shot once, which knocked him to the ground. As he lay there, he raised his arm and was shot multiple times. Five spent .45-caliber spent shell casings were later recovered, McCauley said.

When Hernandez returned home around 3:30 a.m. Monday, surveillance video at his house showed him walking through his house holding a pistol in his hand, the prosecutor said.

Believe he fell in with gangs after his dad died. Continued to associate with them when he went down to Florida for college. There is a pic of him somewhere on t'internet that has him posing with a Glock pistol in hand and his phone in the other taking a pic of himself in mirror. That was prior to the draft. He slipped to 4th Rd despite being rated highly due to off field issues.

He failed drug tests at UF but the gang thing has been hearsay. Bristol/New Britain area always seems nice enough when I have been through/played there but gangs get everywhere I guess.

I was speaking to a guy yesterday who says that area of CT is (or at least was) a bad area for gangs around the time he was growing up. Don't know what it's like now though.

It might be, I just turned up with my teams! Always seemed nice. Mind you Stratford always seemed nice but there were two drive bys on our street when I lived there.
