More on Vlad's Balkan bother ! I do think some people will be going to jail.
Bosnia's main gas distributor, BH Gas, cut gas supplies to Birac two weeks ago over a 5 million euro ($6.42 million) debt.

Wow, how could that level of debt be allowed to be racked up.

Have always said that the REAL problems for Hearts will begin when law enforcement agencies start investigating individuals and following the money that is being moved around those companies, and of course, financing Hearts outrageous wage bill. If it's revealed that money is/has come from illegal and immoral sources, the Scottish Footballing authorites will be compelled to act, as in the case of Rangers ETB. The ETB's are relatively untainted, compared to where these Hearts monies may have originated.

Such investigations and the prosecution of individuals and the likely lengthy appeals could lead to Hearts being unsellable and licensable as a football club for years, thus precipitating a modern day Third Lanark scenario.

The company's auditors have a duty under the Proceeds of Crime Act to report (to SOCA) any suspicions they have that the company has profited from illegal activities.

Not to do so carries a potential jail sentence of 7 years. To do so, and disclose it to a third party (eg the company itself), carries a sentence of (I think) 3 years.

All of that is the background to the possibility that, for all we know, HMFC's financing may already be under scrutiny here in the UK. We can't know that, though.

Hearts funded the best part of £ 70 million these past 6 years by UBIG.

Criminal investigations in Lithuania and Bosnia into fraud involving UBIG and Vlad.

Can sombody let Johnston Carmichael know in case they missed it.

May'be Barry could break the story.

I notice wee fat Blobbo claiming there are 200,000 to 250,000 hertz fans out there.

A tad worrying as they seem to have mislaid 150,000 somewhere.

    Deluded plums.

All these people who had token boardroom seats at Tynecastle over the last seven years (and, to be fair them, probably did know absolutely zero) might be twitching a little at the moment.

All the directors have been Vlad's Lith. associates and family. I don't think Ogilvy or Southern were Company Directors and the the fat slug from the House of Lords did'nt last long enough to be caught up in the ***** storm. Mores the pity.

Does Hibs.net have a similar duty to report such suspicions bearing in mind it is the only depository for all such knowledge ?

Is the aluminium plant owned by UBIG?

  11. #10780
UBIG pays Hearts large sums of money.

Hearts return it either in the form of interest or in large payments to players who pay an arrangement fee to UBIG

So money does a round trip.

Stuck for a translation again, but this article seems to say Vlad and his sister have been arrested or it may mean their property has been seized.

£3M budget for a 25 man squad equates to an average wage of about £2,300 a week. World Cup stars will be kicking lumps out of each other to be first to sign up

Has the shortfall that they didn't get close to meeting just gone away?

  25. #10794
Why would he come out and announce this? Have they ever previously done this?

Gives an mixed message to their fans...we have money...you don't have to invest any more

Depends if the budget is purely for the first team squad or for all players plus coaches etc - they had 110 players and coaching staff according to their last accounts. I doubt if they can set a meaningful budget at this stage anyway with season tickets only just on sale and a proposed change of ownership in the offing. This looks like another #allisbarry article to me in an attempt to shift the STs. I notice he doesn't actually mention the £3m in the article itself though.

Just reading that 2nd part of the wee fat strikers PR piece. Funny as.

    Banderson starts
Despite his reservations, Robertson is a realist.
    Then Robertson goes on
“If there was a perfect wish-list, I’d love to see Hearts debt free,”
