That was at a time we were paying silly money to players to get us out of div one and helps us stay in the SPL.
Mind you, not as silly as the Yams were paying, and still are

Wages day tomorrow? Will they make it? If the Chinese have sent the money for McGowan then there is a chance but as they have still not brought the bonuses up to date I think there is a good chance they won't.
Has to be a points deduction this time?

  12. #6791
I think they'll cough up, I really really do (sorry Monkton I couldn't resist)

A Yam mate, who has been (reliably) ITK previously, says the bonuses were paid before Christmas, they got this latest penalty because they hadn't told the SPL they were outstanding.... Despite being specifically asked that everything was up to date after the last wage default.

His worry is that the cash flow is really really tight and a new wages "issue" can easily happen again ( although he's confident for this month) and there's a real worry of a points deduction.

They were put on a full transfer ban until all wages are up to date, thereafter only players under 21 could be signed.
They are still under the full ban so they must still be behind on wages.

Im not sure that is the case - I thought the full ban was to stay in place indefinatly until they could prove they were able to pay all players salaries for a set period of timme (im guessing 3 month o nthe trot paying them) only then would the full ban be lifted and the under 21 rule then imposed until further notice

Vlad's basketball team begging Kaunas Council for almost 3 million euro just to keep them going.

Be prepared for similar request from the Yams to our Council !!!!

Our yam lovers will probably try and slip it through as foreign aid.

Wishful thinking, I reckon they'll definitely pay tomorrow. If they don't then it will signal the end for them because that will prove that the money raised from shares wasn't for the club.
A points deduction if it were to happen would probably be quite minimal anyway and wouldn't put them in any real danger of relegation with Dundee being so poor

A Lithuanian pal of mine told me that if Vlad lets the basketball team go under then he is finished as many lithuanians have said they will withdraw all their money from UKIO and boycott his other business interests. He said that the basketball side are very popular outside of Kaunas aswell and that Vlad would be desperate to avoid them going under as it would be disastrous for his business' in Lithuania.

If this is the case them I'd imagine that the Jambos are way down Vlad's list of priorities given that Hearts going under would have little or no impact on UKIO's operations, with the exception of the debt but a good chunk of that is no doubt covered by securities. If Vlad does have any emergency cash stashed away then surely he would have used it to help out his basketball team by now. If Hearts cannot generate enough cash themselves to pay the wages then there is no chance of Vlad covering the shortfall, I wouldn't even put it beyond Vlad to have siphoned off some of the recent funds generated by the cake sales to help the basketball team out.

Unless they get rid of the majority of their first team squad and get a few transfer fees during this transfer window then I'd say it's only a matter of time before they default on wages again - quite possibly starting tomorrow.

Interesting to see the slump in Greggs shares from the 6th of December when the first bake sales were known to have commenced in Gorgie.

With 400k customers immediately switching to an alternative baked goods provider its no surprise really.

I had heard that Hearts were being extremely careful with how they worded talk of the bonus payments. When the media reports came out about bonuses not being paid all the responses through official channels only confirmed that the "Scottish Cup Bonuses" had been paid.

I thought they got the most recent "punishment" because they actually declared a default on bonus payments? all very confusing. however, much to my joy, they still seem up tae their baws in cash flow coo****. Serge will be thinking, tommorow's another day. let's see what it brings
