The Foundation has sought to inherit a debt-free club, something Romanov has the capability to provide given the majority sums owed to his Ukio Bankas Investment Group. For those who question why Romanov would agree to such a deal, there is the prospect of that legacy being enhanced by him passing Hearts on to supporters. The club would look in stronger health than when he completed his takeover, seven years ago.
ie Vlad will write off all of the debt and release his security on Tynecastle out of the kindness of his heart.

He might get that statue after all

    This is my favourite bit:

Yet despite being in advanced talks, the club elected to go to the fans with their own share issue, thereby seeking to raise £1.79m.
Does that maybe tell you a wee something about how the talks were going, Ewan? Come on, you must have a little journalistic hunch there.

The Ukio submarine looking for the bottom of the Marianas Trench.
Great reading. Watching it go from -5.83% to minus 6.67% was fun.

Yams have admitted they've previously had higher outstanding bills to HMRC than the £500 k currently owed. This means effectively that Yams have enjoyed up to £1mm interest free loan for several years. This loan, which is partially income from sales of tickets to other clubs, has allowed them to sign & retain players they otherwise couldn't afford. We & all other clubs have helped Yams buy players to play against us & they expect sympathy!!
Ps, I'm assuming that if penalties were previously applied that knowledge would be public by now.

    There's interest on late payments.

Yes, but were they being applied? Sevco got away with millions. It seems there's a different set of rules for ordinary folk vs institutions. L

Presumably this is the much rumoured "consortium" that's been poised to swoop in heroically. Hope so. All the right noises (for Hibbies) are there: need Vlad to write off all the debt, relies completely on income from the fans including another share issue. In short, no pot for the purposes of urination.

Can't believe the Grauniad publish this level of fan-with-laptop wishful thinking. Presumably it's filed under Football->Scottish->WGAF.
What a load of wind and pish. How many consortia of local business men are there that apparently support hearts? Whenever I see them they look like a motley assortment of Neanderthal bloaters with Eddie large perms and mullets, Adidas sambas, pie stained hearts tops stretched over beer guts and union jacks draped across their shoulders.
Yet the media would like to have us believe that their fan base is made up of budding Peter jones's.

Windae lickers the lot of them.

Don't think the Grauniad give a toss about Scottish football, which is a shame because their man David Conn is a decent investigative journalist and could have done a lot of good looking into the Hun / mini-Hun meltdowns.

This article is less of a report and more of an open letter to Mr Romanov to beg him to do the decent thing. Ewan Murray has clearly been approached by whoever is behind this "Foundation" but clearly there is nothing substantial to say about them.

Even if Vlad wanted to write off all Hearts' debt (no indication of that), is he in a position to do so. It would seem that Hearts' debt is not a minor irritation to him but represents a huge chunk of UBIG's "assets". Are they just going to forgive it like that?

I think this is where the debt for equity swaps come into play. That debt didn't go away, UBIG (IIRC, it was they who took the equity in return for the debt) will want that money back - the swap wasn't a debt forgiveness or a write off.

They don't have a dedicated Scottish football writer any more. Murray's main job with them now is as their golf writer.

I would put it more as an opening of hostilities by this consortium. The article implicitly warns fans against buying shares and drops heavy hints about the evils of Mr Romanov's regime. It insults him then goes on to plead with him to hand over the club debt-free - brilliant.

I notice Save Our Hearts is bigged up in the article and then HoMFC issue this statement - http://www.heartsfc.co.uk/articles/2...241384_2979119.

    Coincidence?

They get more and more dodgy by the day.

First it was "don't ask questions, just give us the money", now it's "don't trust the folk who could be the good guys, just give us your money".

    That article is a belter.

"There are now 10 organisations actively involved in seeking funds from fans," said a Hearts spokesperson.

"We have dealt with some of these groups before but others have only recently been created and the club has no direct relationship with them.

"For that reason, we would urged supporters to please think twice before parting with their hard-earned money. We would reiterate that the current Share Offer, the recently set up Donation Line - 0131 200 7280 - and buying tickets for upcoming matches at Tynecastle are the best ways to guarantee that the money handed over will go towards club activities."
These reads like a mugger taking your wallet and then warning you to be suspicious of door-to-door salesmen!

If this Foundation is serious, they should have been open and ready to go when the share offer was announced.

Only the Saviles could set up campaign groups aimed at steering fans donations (and cake & candy takings) away from the club in their desperate hour of need.

Medals Mackay and his group of merry men want to control who gets paid when HMRC are ready to pull the plug on the cants if they dont get their dosh this week.

A set of spineless phannies who have had this coming to them in 7 years of overspending.

    Cheerio.

The question wasn't about the PAYE, it was about whether interest was applied. I am 99% certain that it would have been.

The old Huns paid nothing but the owners lost their business. In what sense is that getting away with it?

New Huns are a new company that bought the assets, the bills have nothing to do with them.

It looks a lot like the end game by Vlad. My take on Vlad's refusal of the The Rangers money is that he sees the liquidation looming. The reduced amount offered by The rangers would simply pay this tax bill. After liquidation the full amount will still be due by The rangers but it would go to Vlad via UKIO after tax.

I don't want them gone but Would the last one out please turn off the lights.

This is no more than extreme wishful thinking.

Anyone who doesn't think Rangers have 'got away' with massive debt and tax avoidance need only visit Ibrox at a home game, visit a small creditors meeting, a ticketus board meeting or speak to HMRC.

So some owner lost his business, so what. Exactly how out of pocket is Whyte? The new company bull**** merely points out how ridiculous administration law is and how corrupt the financial world is. Phoenix companies, what a crock of immoral, cheating pish.
