Anyone seeking a good RB? I'm about to release Ryan Mathews (Chargers) who has OK numbers thus far this season.
Sure, I'll take him off your hands. :-)

So glad I missed him on waivers. :-)

    That's a beast of a score.
I drafted him in the 9th or 10th round.

I could have sworn Doug Martin was picked up on waivers just a couple of weeks ago...I will need to look into that.

EDIT : OK, I am officially going insane. Maybe I tried to trade him from you but you changed your mind or didn't want to let him go. I know for a fact that I was interested in him and I thought I made a bid to get him...but obviously not from waivers.

There is no way you won't get to 17.1 points with TWO players on the NO offence in your team. Never say never, anything is possible. Obviously I am hoping for a little less than 17. :)

Yeah that's it! I'm sure you offered me Miles Austin and I asked for AJ Green!

I remember something like that, but wasn't sure if that was THE trade. I don't think this thing keeps a record of failed waiver claims and rejected trades. Good on you for picking him up. I wonder if he will manage to repeat? I've been waiting on Jamaal Charles to blow it up again and I am sure lots of people have been waiting on Hartline posting up great numbers. And RGIII, he'll need to pull it out (although week 8's numbers were more about dropped passes than anything else).

You any interest in offloading Hernandez for a good backup QB, or are you clinging to him in hope that he might still get over the 30 points for the season mark?

Hernandez is not off the table but I have no need for a QB. just need one. :-)

I Just proposed a trade. Let me know as soon as you can as one of the players involved in the trade could very well be away by tomorrow (depending on how other transactions go).

Considered it but I'm not willing to release him.

I'm OK at TE anyway I guess, having arguably one of the better TEs in the league in Tony Gonzalez!

    Cheers though!

I noticed the trade was rejected. I'm not upset because I still have high hopes for Hernandez, assuming his ankle is better after the long layoff. I know Hernandez and Welker are nothing alike but they do eat into each other's points. My hope is for the Pats to keep winning, any way they can, but on a more selfish note I hope that Hernandez bounces back and Welker's targets drop.

Stupid question but how come's we're still going? Thought we were just playing each other once and then it would be on to playoffs for the top teams in the league . Would have taken it a bit more seriously if we were going around again. Is the league having playoffs? and if so, how's that working and if not, is it just the league. Should have read the bloody rules I guess .

  19. #948
And another thing. I've readily admitted I'm not the greatest at this but how the duck does a team that most weeks has Matt Ryan, LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Larry Fitzgerald and the Ravens D at is core go on an 10 game losing streak .

It's all about the match-ups. There are teams in our league who have better players than me but its not just about having the best players.....so I'm learning. This is all my opinion but you HAVE to pay attention to what's going on, what teams are playing each other, etc. you can't just draft a team and think you'll win.

I'm taking a gamble on Brian Hartline this week. Hoping my team explodes in to life as revenge is on the cards!

Anyone used the fantasy guru? Is it just me or is it a load of rubbish? This week it "overwhelmingly suggests" that I drop Tynes (No. 1 Kicker with 18 points more than 2nd place) and add Dan Bailey (No. 20 kicker with 44 less points than Tynes) also it "overwhelmingly suggests" that I drop Randall Cobb (No. 9 WR, 95.6 points) and add Jermichael Finley (No. 26 TE, 31.1 points). Very odd.

Guru is pish. I have no idea how its programmed. Projections are pish too. I've seen Player A with a higher projection than Player B yet Guru suggests i play Player B instead. I don't use Guru and I ignore the projections but they can be distracting. It's hard to bench a player when the system tells you they're projected to score 15 points, even when you know better than to trust the projections. I went through all the weeks and compared projected vs actual fantasy points and the results were startlingly bad.

The season lasts for 16 weeks. The first 14 weeks we play each other. Week 15 is the Semis. Week 16 is the finals. You have 5 more weeks to make it into the playoffs but even if you blow your opponents out the water every week you pretty much need everyone else to lose (which is obviously not possible). :(

If you click on the League's home page you will be taken to the standings by default. You can click on the other tabs to see the schedule and the playoffs. The playoffs tab tells you which weeks are for semis and finals.

I've had Hartline twice now, i used the 'pick him up just AFTER hes had a great week' rationale
Ive picked up Russel Wilson and Golden Tate in a partisan move. They are owned in just 2% and 1% of leagues which probably isnt a good sign...

I too have employed that rationale with limited success. Kenny Britt springs to mind. My line is pretty much set but I try and look for obvious match ups on a weekly basis because sometimes your studs can have poor match ups and, of course, bye weeks

The trick im yet to master is picking them up the week BEFORE they have a big week
