Navy trying to get it going after an interception and are moving well down the field just now.

Either way, you're right...I doubt it went down very well. American commentators wouldn't have understood the politics enough to comment on it though.

Ohio State and Urban Meyer getting off to a good start, albeit at home to Miami (OH), 21-3.
Penn State up 14-3 and West Virginia lead Marshall 34-10.
I actually watched We Are Marshall last night - it has become a bit of a tradition before the NCAA season gets underway for meMadness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Ohio vs Penn State game thus far. Ohio take the lead to the end of the 3rd, 17-14. Was interesting to hear that the Paterno family were in attendance today

Haven't seen any of today's game but to be fair, I'd have totally given up if we got beat today. Our opening couple of fixtures are all win able and should set us up well for the harder games to come.

So good to get in from work at an annoying hour yet still be able to watch good quality live American Football. Michigan don't seem to have too many ideas! Disappointed that it's not the Arkansas - Oregon game as advertised though as I have decided that Oregon are going to be my college team.

Ah, it has gone to the Arkansas State - Oregon game now, I assume the Michigan game must have overrun. I liked the look of AJ McCarron for Alabama though!
I have a feeling that despite Oregon being 29-0 up with 14 minutes left in the second quarter, it's gonna be a long night (or should that be early morning?)

Just finished watching the Clemson v Auburn game, it was a good one. I like the close ones better than the blow outs

Can't say I expected much else other than what happened to us last night.
Our key RB (Toussaint) was suspended, thus removing a significant part of our running game and as was evident last season, Denard cannot pass in the pocket and Alabama confined him there well, not rushing him at all but merely setting up a proximity threat.
Alabama were absolutely awesome and dealt with us perfectly - Nick Saban really done his work in researching all aspects of our game. Even McCarron looked pretty competent against us and that's normally one of 'Bama's weaker offensive elements.
It can only be a good learning experience for our young team playing against opposition that good, as we won't face anyone in that same caliber for the rest of the season. Granted, we'll face some good teams throughout the year (we have tough games in the schedule against Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Nebraska) but none who are likely to be in the BCS Championship discussions come the end of the year.Last edited by Sylar; 02-09-2012 at 07:05 PM.

Thank you kind admin person.
I see there's still huge uncertainty about Sky covering the NFL this year. Announcement expected tomorrow apparently.
I recently just took out Sky Sports (and the free ESPN for 3 months offer) because of the starting seasons again. They'll be cancelled just as quickly if Sky aren't covering it.Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

I've heard the deals basically done and it's only a small issue that's holding it back. Something to do with one of the US shows (can't remember the name) and SKY want it included in the package they are paying for. One way or the other the Giants game will defo be on SKY. That's what I've been told anyway.

No excuses needed - we played a superior team and got pumped. Simple answer. Thankfully nobody else will come near that good this season.
Are you lot eligible for Bowl consideration again this season by the way? I was quite surprised to see you were rankedMadness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Surprised that the best team in football are ranked. Last year was a blip, a one off. Normal service will resume, especially when we play you lot.
To be honest I can't get my head round it all. I'm pretty sure we aren't eligible for any Bowl or Championship game but then we weren't last year and ended up in one. Like I said last year, there's way to many bowls. In my eyes there's only 3 maybe at a push 5 games that warrant the attention. There's what, 35 bowls. That's 70 teams playing in some sort of bowl or another. I'd guess we'll end up in one of them but like I said I'm not sure.

There probably are too many bowls, but it's the BCS ones which count and I'm pretty sure the bowl you played in last year wasn't a BCS bowl (unlike ours, for example). I find it very confusing to be honest but I've never bothered studying it in any great depth. I learned quickly at Michigan that you enjoy having a College Football team to support every weekend during the fall but do so without any great expectations.Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. . Just find it a bit daft. If your banning us from a bowl then ban us. Could have a lot to say about it but I'm starting to sound like a newco fan so I'm gonna give the Buckeye stuff a wee rest for a couple of weeks.

Did they get the extra programme in the deal? Can't for the life of me remember the name but if it's to do with football and its on TV it can't be to bad.
