That's not true, of course, and therefore casts doubt on the rest of the article.

Sevco win their 1st game!
NEWCO Rangers made their first appearance behind closed doors.
Boss Ally McCoist and No 2 Kenny McDowall watched from the training-ground balcony as Gers beat Airdrie United last night.
Security men at Murray Park outnumbered the players’ kids who looked on as Lewis McLeod and Lee Wallace scored the first goals of the new Gers era.
Ian Durrant was the man in the dugout as a Rangers side in all-white strips were always on top against Jimmy Boyle’s side.
Lee McCulloch had already gone close before youngster McLeod fired Gers in front with a powerful 20-yard drive after 15 minutes.
Kirk Broadfoot went close with a header before Gers increased their lead when Wallace turned the ball home in a goalmouth scramble eight minutes before the interval.
The Diamonds had ex-Dundee United stopper Garry Kenneth at the heart of their defence and he enjoyed a physical tussle with McCulloch.
The experienced striker led his line well with Alejandro Bedoya playing off him, and saw a header just after the hour well saved by Airdrie’s trialist keeper.
Scott Gallacher replaced Neil Alexander in the Gers goal as the Third Division new boys stayed in control.
But he was beaten when Airdrie pulled one back from the penalty spot and Gallacher was then forced into a good stop as Airdrie battled for an equaliser.
Kal Naismith and Matt Clark replaced Andy Mitchell and Robbie Crawford for Gers late on.
The referee had to warn an Airdrie player for a comment about Rangers being a ‘Third Division team’ but they held on to win.
RANGERS: Alexander (Gallacher); Cole, Broadfoot, Hegarty, Wallace, Mitchell (Clark), Hutton, McLeod, Crawford (Naismith), Bedoya, McCulloch.

I guess swally can't count?.... he's been bleating on about not having enough players to make up a team!!!!!
If Sevco were trying to use the fact they didn't have enough players, they've just shot themselves in the foot.... again!..... Transfer ban now heading their way
PS I like the fact their new homestrip is all white LOL

Airdrie United lost their previous game 2-1 to Stirling Albion. Division 3 could be a close-run thing this season.

Seems The Rangers have a new investor
New Investor Statement
BUSINESSMAN Craig Mather has released the following statement:
"I am delighted to have invested in The Rangers Football Club with my business partner Guy Gisborne.
"In addition to the financial investment, my sports management business, Simply Sport Management, specialises in youth players. I am confident that my colleagues and contacts within this field will prove invaluable.
"The facilities within the youth academy and training centre at Murray Park are world class and we must continually improve to ensure that the players coming through are of the same standard.
"I look forward to being part of the team rebuilding this fantastic club."

If Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor, Gisborne did so in reverse. Sounds like a 'Rangers' man to me

[QUOTE=CropleyWasGod;3298421]Is it just me, or is anybody else raising eyebrows at the name Guy Gisborne?
These new investors including Gisborne are from Nottingham as well! You couldn't make this up!

Considering the £5.5m D&P charged appeared to include player registrations that have now left the club I would have thought the value should have diminished. The only asset that has been added has been a possible entry to D3 (still dependent on SFA agreement ).....can't see how that is worth £4.5m so can only conclude that this is clear evidence that D&P failed to extract a fair price for the initial assets in the first place.

That said, it's not a bad investment for the assets alone, never mind the early opportunity to double your money when Bomber Brown wades in with his consortium bid.
The problems will start to rise though, when it becomes apparent that there's not enough money to cover the running costs. It doesn't look like there are any "investors" with large disposable wads of cash ready to plough into the club. And why would any one of them do it, when the other investors aren't able to do the same?
