Was the best WR in the league a few years back but it seems like his best days are well and truely behind him now.

I dunno - put him in the right offense and he could well and truly rip a defense to pieces.

Sanchez doesn't utilise big passes or quick sharp passes in the same way Moss was used to with Brady - it might sound a little arrogant, but I reckon Brady him the player he was.

There have been a few rumours linking us with Chad Ochcocinco and I hope they're nothing more than pie in the sky, journalists attempting to create news whilst the lockout still looms, nonsense.

It was a while ago I heard the rumour, so that might well be the case!

He is playing for the reserve side at Sporting Kanas City at the moment. Not got a contract yet.

Apparently the MLS teams are "rebranding" to sound more like European club teams? Interesting.

    International Series

Been confirmed that if the season goes ahead the Wembley game will be ...............
the Buccaneers vs the Bears with the Buccs being the home team. Find it a strange one with the Buccs being here before but hey ho .

Randy Moss has had all the chances I think he deserves. I have no doubt in my mind that when he puts his mind to it, he's one of the best out there. The way he can pull a ball down with one hand while soaring a few feet off the ground......and then retain possession is amazing. I loved the guy when he played for the Pats. I secretly hoped that after "that" news conference that he would maybe come back to the Pats but it never happened. Wish things could have been different but alas.

We might have broken records with him in the team but we didn't win any rings.

It will be intresting to see what they do with it if the season doesn't go ahead (the game that is not the cover).
    Have any of you been taking part in the vote for the new cover? It's been quite intresting to see which player each team put forward and whos been picking up the votes. They've got it down from 32 to 4. The 4 being;
    Aaron Rodgers
    Michael Vick
    Peyton Hillis
    Adrian Peterson.

It's always going to be Rodgers bit would be intresting to see what they'd do if Vick wins.

I will hopefully be at Foxboro for the first game there!

Tough schedule but I am happy the bye week isnt too early and isnt too late either... finishing with two home games is also good for us! I cant wait for the season... need to make sure it happens now!

Bears @ Bucs at wembley too... hopefully be a cracker

I fly into Orlando on the 10th of September, so I'm toying with the notion of making it down to Miami for the opener.

If not, I'll just need to settle for a trip to Gainesville the following Saturday, to watch Florida take on Tennessee

Miami's on the Monday night . We've got 5 games on the TV already and if Sky pick up a few others it will be cracking.
Got to be honest and say I'm NO liking that schedule. Looks like it could be a killer and I've serious doubts about us making the play-offs. Having to play the Ravens and Pats away one after another is not good especially when you factor in we've got to make the trip west to Oakland the week before. Who ever came up with that has done us no favours. Them last 3 games are a bit of a nightmare as well. Wouldn't like to see any of them as must win games.

Got to agree with you, tough run of games especially the 3 away in a row (notice the Bills have also been subjected to this but the Dolphins and the Brady Bunch haven't) Also surely we should of been playing the Giants on Sept 11th.

This season looks like it will be a cracker for all involved, really interested in the upcoming draft to see what the Patriots do with all the picks they have (6 from the first 90, that's 2 each in the first 3 rounds) with 17th and 33rd overall picks looking like good ones.

As for Moss going to the Jets, Moss did so well at New England as he was working with arguably one of the best Quarterbacks in the NFL and their style of play suited him, don't think the way the Jets work is what would fit Moss best. Moss has said that he'd love to work with Belichick and Brady again, as for whether the Patriots would take him back given the season they had last year without him, I'm not so sure, the New England offence was one of the best last year, and statistically their defence was one of the worst, which was off-set by the offence doing so well.

Haha, was just making an observation - not paranoid in the slightest

"If you have five prime-time games, people want to watch you, and people anticipate us having an outstanding season. ... This is to be expected, but it’s still exciting also.”

The NFL are saying that you can't put an injunction on a labour dispute - not too clued up on US law but seems they have a pretty solid basis to appeal this injunction. Besides how can the NFL operate if there is still no CBA? Agents are telling their players to report tomorrow in order to start picking up workout bonuses. Very interested to see how this plays out if the injunction is upheld.

Article by the NFL commissioner in the Wall Street Journal.

If he's being remotely fair in his analysis, it sounds like the NFL will become a lot more like European football - a complete free for all. No draft, no restrictions on free agency, no collective agreements at all. The obvious consequence of that is a system more like English football, where about 4 or 5 teams have a realistic chance of winning each year and everyone else is fighting over the scraps and/or developing players for those richer teams.

I don't think many Americans will have much sympathy for the already very well-paid players like Brady or Peyton Manning trying to squeeze a few more million bucks out of them at the expense of their fellow players. At present the NFL is very fair towards marginal and/or injured players in terms of minimum salary and protective benefits. Without a CBA those guys would obviously get squeezed, because the small market teams could just take other players from college, Arena football or Canada.

Alot of the arguement comes down to the fact that the owners want a longer regular season for which the players want more money for... The majority of players get so smashed to **** that they want either bigger rosters (and therefore more money to pay for the extra needed players) or keeping the same rosters (and therefore more money to pay for the bigger risks they will have to take). At the end of the day American Football is not like Association Football - these players run the risk of serious, life threatening injuries whenever they enter the arena. Association football is, in theory, non contact and while serious injuries occur in it NFL players run the risk of disablities, brain damage and even death when they head for a tackle... Just look at the Ellis Hobbs injury this season where everyone was on the pitch and the fear of the worst was evident in the eyes...

The biggest players earn huge bucks, sure, but then alot of players who arent "top" players yet are instrumental in the team earn little... and some of their time as pros is very limited.

The big players also earn the big money because they are the best at what they do, they sell the team the biggest number of shirts, bring the best money from deals...

The players hold all the chips here and I would imagine the public will be with them

That's not what previous strikes / lockouts in pro sports would suggest.

Maybe they have learnt from those occasions and will have a better way of communicating with the fans/public?
