Successes in management - Avoiding relegation with Pafos and Fleetwood, just the kind of guy they need. A sort of Temu Neil Warnock.

If they go for one of those, or McInnes or Robinson then they're essentially admitting the analytics is p*sh. I'll enjoy listening to McKinlay's verbal gymnastics trying to explain it. It will be the same with the fans when you say "I see you've ditched the analytics". Should be a laugh.

Have said all along that analytics is all well and good but when you've got clueless fuds like they have making the decisions, the analytics makes next to no difference. They'll do the same as last time and manipulate the critieria to get the output they want then gaslight the fans to say he scored very highly.

I said at the time the JTA hookup was announced and that plum McKinlay going all in on the analytics in every interview was so naive, First sign of anything going wrong. Eh… last manger appointment they have nowhere to go.

Other than Pressley (😂😂😂) because he's got a backroom job at Brentford so knows about analytics. They've snookered themselves somewhat.

Just watched the highlights from the Dundee game on Saturday. What a crowd. Those thousands on the waiting list still locked out I see.

I heard Don Cowie’s name being mentioned as their first choice target today.

I think he was at Hearts before wasn’t he?
Not that it changes anything whatever but he presumably has a good relationship with Malky, who signed him twice as a player and made him his assistant manager.

I see Barry Anderson at the News has finally cottoned on to what’s been going on. He’ll be off Mrs. Budge’s Christmas Card list.

Mental opinion that. Why would you take a guy who has proven that he lacks the professionalism to even do the basics, ie no be a fat ****

And we now have him smirking like a wee laddie getting in trouble, he’s meant to be their captain and leader. And you say you want him here!! 😂😂

Penrice would maybe get on our bench, other than that we’re stronger than they tramps all over the park. Long may it continue.
It can’t be a coincidence that there was not a queue of clubs lining up for a transfer frenzy to try and prise Shankland away from Hearts after such a great season in the summer there.

Why were clubs steering well clear? He comes across as a bit of a strange character, but must be more to it than that?

IIRC there were issues early in his career with Aberdeen and he eventually got turfed out in spite of signing a new contract. Don't really recall what the issues were, just recall that they got frustrated with him and let him go.

Yep. All she had to say was something diplomatic along the lines of "we thank Neil and his assistant for their efforts and we're now moving on".

Not sure Budge knows what day it is anymore, let alone what's happening at her club.

    She won't let go either

    From the Evening News:

'Hearts' partnership with Jamestown Analytics means that every head coach appointed is first scrutinised by its data system and, among the criteria candidates must adhere to, every team boss must be on board with using it for player recruitment or they will not get the job.'

It's a process which is proving worth its weight in gold so far. Glad to hear they're sticking with it.

Also loving this from the Record:

'Former Heart of Midlothian captain Steven Pressley would be willing to leave his role as Brentford's head of individual development to help his old club, who have dismissed head coach Neil Critchley, steer clear of relegation trouble.'

was he one of the Riccarton 3. Pressley Hartley, Gordon?

All handsomely paid off and gagged?

I'm seeing the press speculating around the likes of Mcglynn, Pressley and Neilson. So much for Jamestown's wonderful Analytics.

I did read this comment in the EEN:

Hearts' partnership with Jamestown Analytics means that every head coach appointed is first scrutinised by its data system and, among the criteria candidates must adhere to, every team boss must be on board with using it for player recruitment or they will not get the job.

So a "head" coach with no authority at all! Not allowed to input into player recruitment plus other restrictions as well. No doubt the yams will tell everyone it's what big clubs do.
What they havent told the world, and given everything they do tell the world to make sure people know they are the biggliest team in the bottom six, is that Jamestown have added a special filter to their analytical software, nicknamed the "yamometer"

This is the primary filter on the data. Although it's top secret as to what the full filter includes, the primary layer is called "the funnel" and searches for specific profile elements, including:

Has owned or still owns a vehicle made by Rover or British Leyland
Said vehicle has maroon velour seat covers (extra points for unidentifiable stains on the seats)
Still lives with their mother (bonus points for living in the basement)
Is very close to at least one sibbling
Has spent at least 3 nights in the Gorgie Hilton
Looks like they need a good wash / beard trim / hair cut
Once offered to paint some steps at Tynecastle for free
    Is delusional
Has a Russian hat in their wardrobe
Has never paid for a poppy

So you can see exactly why Captain Caveman with Ian Black as assistant is very likely.

I read one quote from a fan stated "Has Shankland's goals over the last few season been hiding just how bad we are, even though we came 3rd twice?" I'd say Shankland's goals and Gordon's saves have masked how poor Hearts were in recent seasons, despite their 3rd, 4th, 3rd placings. When I watch them, I generally feel I'm watching a relatively poor side. They might score some good goals, but I never think that they are a good side outplaying the opposition.

Am I being harsh in my assessment.

Interesting reading through the comments here where most are advocating a return to the traditional Hearts way of industrial, suffocating attritional football.

I think what Sked has described there is very similar to what we’ve turned into this season. Quality delivery into the box, physicality throughout the team, one or two in midfield that can play in amongst the battle. Dundee United are kind of similar I think. It’s a formula that works in this league.

Don't think you are. Last season their cracks were papered over by Hibs & Aberdeen being a shambles and several games where they were outplayed but Shankland came up with the goods due to the form he was in. He even admitted himself he overperformed in terms of expected goals. Now he's off the boil and Hibs/Aberdeen have got their s*it together it's shown them up for the overrated team they are.

Very risky time for them to sack another manager. Potential Butcher like situation if the new person doesn’t hit the ground running.

Wasn’t really listening tbh can’t stand Hearts only passing only on what I was told but Boyce Sibbick Boateng Cochrane Rowles Oyegoke Tagawa and Oda

Got tbh every time the ****bos come to ER I have to buy a programme to keep up to speed with their squad changes all the time but never fear their squad was better than ours this season

They also ‘sold / let go Makenzie Kirk to St Johnstone who looks decent scored a few

Liked Sibbick made lots of mistakes

Struggling to name any current Hearts players tbh only interested in Hibs

I looked at the players they have let go apart from that no interest

Boyce Boateng and Rowles ring a bell if that helps ?

Defo mentioned the three mentioned in the last sentence but know they have had a high staff turnover

Can see why folk are reluctant to pass on info

No worth the hassle but hardly state secrets
