    Sir Chris Hoy

Battling cancer for the last year

Sounds as though somebody was about to announce it which has forced his hand to go public

    Kick it's arse Chris

Rooting for him, awful news (for anyone)

As you say, his statement appears to imply that someone else was going to leak it so he’s chosen to announce it himself. Sickening, let the poor guy deal with it his own way, with dignity and privacy (as he chose to)

He should have named the individual involved or the outlet that were going to run the story. If people want to keep their health affairs private then that should be respected, irrespective of who they are.

Sounds like he is doing well which is good news. Here's hoping he makes a full recovery.
PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

His biography is a great read especially as lots of Edinburgh content. Grew up in Murrayfield/Pinkhill area. Before cycling got proper funding he used to train at speed up and down Turnhouse Road.

Very likeable guy for a jambo 🙂. Hope he makes a full recovery.

I've lived in Edinburgh all my life and that's the first time I've heard of Pinkhill. Every day is a school day.

Yeah me too. Had to look it up and it’s actually somewhere I pass on a regular basis
