It was brilliant, you could see how much it meant to Josh Campbell as he was belting it out. Great to see quite a few other players singing it too.
Its getting a tonne of social media attention. Possibly helped by the recent chris martin version and the Celtic win.
Best football anthem on the planet hands down. So lucky to have it as ours and only ours, when its in full swing there's nothing like it.
To hear it belted out like twice in 8 days is something special.
Lady in my work who is not remotely interested in football said that if she supported a team it would be hibs on the back of this song, that's the power off it
That was the best since 2016.

Imagine being a Jambo. Even walking away from the stadium there would be no escaping it. Fantastic.
None better than… simples … and the fact all other football fans hear it and either ..
- agree and enjoy
- or weep into their rangers or hearts scarves ..(and some celtic ones too lol)
makes it all the more better
It truly is simply the best ever football supporters anthem 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 .. oh to be 💚
Best song in football.
By. A. Mile.
When was last time SoL was played two games in a row at Easter Road?
Lump in the throat again
Love Joe Newell on the pitch at start of that getting the whole squad together and being a proper Captain - he just gets how important days like this is after many ones that did not go well...
Dwight Gayle at the end just loving it - when you consider hes played at St James's etc and other big clubs he was lapping it up - hope he signs another year as good older professionals set standards for younger ones to follow
Couldn’t run fast enough … but hey, it’s a good song, makes us proud 💚
And tbh I don’t revel in the negative stuff .. like all football fans who get that song, our song, we share it with you .. and there’s wind up esp with rangers and hearts and celtic… but .. we .. are .. Hibs .. we don’t want your nonsense .. we are happy with us being us and not being your stuff .. most of us, some get dragged into it, I know .. but
sunshine on leith .. share it folks if you choose 💚💚💚💚
What an anthem that is - so glad it's ours. I truly love that song. The rendition of it today sounded amazing, and so loud. I don't think I'll ever manage to sing along to it at Hibs games without filling up with tears.

That was simply amazing and turned the atmosphere dusty in my house.
If you join this club, this is what you get when you deliver. It's a selling point to any player who believes in himself.
The Celtic one was good, but that was on another level today. Always better when we beat them.
I may have mentioned this once or twice before... OK, quite a few times :-)
I was over the moon when I was in Germany and bought the football magazine '11 Freunde' and saw this article on Sunshine on Leith.

They voted it the best football anthem ever.
Trophy should be made and awarded to us!

Brilliant … loads of moments in that I saw like that .. the faces the feelings in the players .. the song too .. f me, we are no bad you know. Feel proud of us Hibees and our club .. always have though .. even through the crap times .. all of it .. makes us Hibs. Thank you my fellow fans here. I don’t interact much here, I know .. but I’m appreciate you all, and get it. Thank you thank you thank you thank you
.. and we beat the hearts today 💚💚❤️
It was fantastic. Even some Jambos and Celtic supporters sang their praises and declared it the best club anthem on the planet. Not unexpectedly, quite few Huns were sneering that it was sung today, with comments such as “ Did they win the league today?” and “ The cup final’s not been played yet.” Sour grapes at it’s sourest.:greengrin
The praise it's getting on the socials is great. Folk are falling in love with the Hibees
It's all the ***** times that make the beautiful times so beautiful.
Something so special about this song is it’s completely unique to Hibs.
Celtic and Liverpool have the same song.
Other clubs have tried to force anthems but this is just such a special song for Hibs only.
The comments on Hibs X have loads of other fans commenting about it and many other fans saying they would visit Easter Road to try sample it one day.
Yesterday with the players linked up showed the unity at the club and loved the celebrations.
One of the best things about it is that it’s sung only at big wins. It would lose something if it was otherwise.
If it wasn't for the fact that the song is literally named for our location then Celtic would have stolen it years ago. It must sicken them that they can't.
My wife could hear it in the house in Willowbrae
Fans of numerous clubs in Scotland and England, as you say even Rangers fans, have spoken with me about how good it is. Plenty fans of all persuasions are also fans of the Proclaimers, which helps, but what really sets the song apart is that it's unique to us. There's no other club which can sing about sunshine on Leith and have it make sense.
What a great day, great result and could not stop the a tear from falling as I belted out SOL from the West Upper Stand, outstanding to everyone, we are hibs.
One thing I’ve noticed over the course of this run is the embracing of our core songs by the fans. Both Glory Glory and Hibs Heroes are now being sung by the fans to great effect (having previously been just played almost as a background) with SoL obviously saved for the big games but getting a more regular outing rather than just cup finals. It’s great as they are core to our identity (thanks Mikey) and help solidify our special brand in the footballing world.
What I love is that it’s a straight forward love song, not towards a person but towards an inanimate location or situation. Its is utterly harmless and non confrontational. It’s about people being in harmony with a place or moment in life. Anyone that finds it difficult to handle is needs to find some inner peace and ditch their own anger.
It doesn’t surprise me but is sad that there is a kickback tonight in some quarters. Some people may get a little confused when there is no edge at all in a song. It’s a thing of beauty
I do find it ironic that the the rangers fans sing Caledonia as an anthem though.
Another beautiful song with no edge to it. The irony being that it’s a love song specifically about Scotland and its roots. Bless them

I found this article recently. Think you'll enjoy it :flag:
We are danger of it being overused now. Winning far too many big games these days [emoji23]
Think you take it for granted how many times it was sung after a big win during Stubbs/Lennon times. It felt like an absolute age since it was sung and played before beating Hearts in April 23 and it felt and sounded much better than you can remember.

Two older women at work asked me today, when it will next be sung as they would like to get tickets to see it, both aren't interested in football. Had to tell them it doesn't work like that unfortunately ha
Oh man. Wet eyes at the game and wet eyes again watching this. We are so, so lucky to have that as our anthem. The football world really loves it, everywhere.
A truly special song for a truly special club.
I'm sure this has been answered numerous times but when was the first time we sang it? AEK?
Most clubs don’t have what we have. Will never take it for granted. SOL is really, really special.
When we played Blackpool in 2023, some Blackpool Fans told us after the match that they were really disappointed with our support that day because we didn't sing Sunshine on Leith.
One of them said that was part of the reason he was there, to join in :greengrin
I'm not usually in favour of that type of signing but Gayle has changed my mind. He was brilliant when he came on yesterday with superb energy and some really clever closing down. Hoillett in a totally different way was a big part of that last 10 minutes being easy street. Both have had a number of important contributions over the season.
For all the talk about disastrous transfer windows etc it has been a long time since our squad was a decent number, very balanced and obvious competition for places. The subs look hungry and that isn't just based on yesterday. Those involved in trimming the squad down and shaping it to have such good cover deserve a lot of credit
Over a million views of it on Hibs X in less than 24 hours. Hibs are massive.
I genuinely think scenes like yesterday with SOL and the attention it gets in the modern age could be a selling point for potential players. It shows our club in a great light.
Biased but who wouldn’t want to come and play football in front of that in one of the best cities in the world? Magic.
i've never heard of this fb group but for some reason it popped up, there's a small clip from yesterday SoL https://www.facebook.com/MenInBlazers 4th vid down
and another dude https://www.facebook.com/maxbretosLive
If we sing it after our victory on Sunday they will probably steal it and say they invented it themselves.
It's made the national news down here in England, never seen that before for a song.
Best football song ever 😍 MAGIC …

What makes SOL Special is the irregular nature of it, most Club Anthems are a weekly thing, generally before a match same time, same place, rinse and repeat, the fact SOL happens when it happens means for these football experience “Collectors” who tick off grounds etc, simply going to Easter Road for a Derby or attending a cup final doesn’t give you access to the full Sunshine On Leith Hibs Event it only gives you a % chance of getting that and that’s what it’s all about 💚
Loved watching the passion on the players faces when they were belting it out, watched Bowie trying to sing, unsure if he was either caught up in the moment or his lips were on the wrong way 🤣
Spot on. I personally don’t want to hear it again until we have either won the cup, or the next time they visit Easter Road. There is nothing better than watching them stream out spewing, whilst 3 stands belt out Sunshine on Leith. It makes it all the more special, that it is used sparingly, when it really matters.
The SoL back to backs this last week has annoyed all the right dafties.
Folks of all persuasions tying themselves in knots over either
* swearing it's not even close to (insert song of their own club) - aye mainly The Tribute Actors
* celebration police acting as sole arbitors of acceptable conduct post wins (Rover driving, sweater wearing Gorgie dwelling bores)
* Orcs
Bizarre analyses including what postcode Easter Road is in and how the song isn't accurate...yup, it annoys all the right people 👏🤣💚
It's absolutely hilarious when they start arguing about the postcodes, and the boundaries between Leith and Lochend... so pathetic and reveals they have hit the absolute bottom of the barrel.
Other crackers include "make your minds up, are you an Edinburgh team or a leith team?"... well since Leith has been in Edinburgh for over a century now, how about both? You absolute roasters!
Some great comments from Sunderland fans.

Times the release of this T-shirt well…
I got a message from a Geordie colleague today as I was on A/L yesterday saying how class SOL is and it's been all over his social media feed
He has little to no interest in Scottish football as well. Great how much media attention this is getting
Looks like the video of SOL on Hibs X has over 2.3 million views.
Gone down well with a few Derby fans.
https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/43928-sunshine-on-leith/
Jim White praising it today on Talksport.
And Middlesbrough. Seems to have sparked a few discussions about others clubs' own anthems.

Im 61 years old (where the f*** did that go) SoL 2016 Hampden my most emotional moment in a life long love affaire with football.
:agree:
Thought the same. Leith is class and Easter Road is arguably situated in one of the best locations of any football stadium in the UK. 10 mins on foot from the city centre in an amazing city, surrounded by masses of pubs and good restaurants.
I’m almost jealous that we don’t get to have an away day in leith.
Not many football Stadiums have been built next to a volcano
Absolutely beautiful
