to be honest, at present, I feel it has to be Stack. Iam never confident when the ball is passed back to Maka. He may come out to collect more crosses than stack, but he has tendencies to drop them/flap at them.
I dont see the problem with Stacks distribution. He at least gets the ball forward, and doesnt take an age to release the ball. Maka spends about a minute contemplating what he is gonna do, absolutely no urgency from him.
Maka is still young, and will be a good keeper, but I think he needs to learn a bit more and bide his time.
as much as i love maka, he makes too many mistakes and Stack looks a safe keeper.:agree:
I prefer Stack.
I feel more confident with Stack in goals than i do with Maka.
 Enough is enough of this debate
Stack for me anyway
Maka by a mile.
Either of them.Did,nt vote cos that option was,nt given. Lets keep this Maka/Stack ball rolling.
Maka is far from perfect, but what I've seen so far of Stack is that he is at best average and Maka is the better long term option.
Both seem to suffer from that disease about venturing out into open spaces EG the06/12/ 18 yard line.
But Maka to me is the better shot stopper
I'd have Maka and Stack at the club over Foster and Boruc anyday. :agree:
I think we have two decent keepers:agree:
Voted Maka though.
Exactly half and half at the mo haha
Personally I think that it's time this stupid "debate" was put to bed.
For weeks on end, the now statutory Maka threads have appeared on Hibs net and it is patently obvious that we're going round in circles as the same discussion points/arguments are being brought up over and over again.
Entrenched views are held and nothing will change some posters opinions so I suggest we all get behind whichever keeper it is that currently holds down the jersey.
So how about it? ---------- a wee truce? --------- maybe we all could give it a try?

How dare you come on here with your radical ideas of supporting both our goalies.Next you will be wanting us to sing and stuff.Down with this sort of thing
:dizzy:
Come on your Maka lovers.... get those votes in! :grr:
Neither player is going to get a fiur crack of the whip until our support accepts that most keepers make mistakes.
We're not going to have a Goram or a Leighton. At the same time, if they make a mistake, it doesn't mean we have another Si Brown or Zibbi.
I voted maka because i love the big streak of piss.
one thing we can say for sure is that if maka was a hertz player.....
he'd be getting a game upfront by now
Well we have a winner, Stack way in front.
how can you have a debate with one keeper who has had a good chance in the team for a few seasons to someoone who has played 3 or 4 games???
dont agree with this poll. sorry
:bye:
I'd have the top half of stack & the bottom half of Maka !!! :duck:
Stack for me.
:top marks Mike!
Also far too early for a meaningful opinion "poll" amongst the fans who actually see the guys playing live as opposed to those that listen to radio comments or pay heed to what they read on here as the justification for voting!
Complete waste of time IMO and therefore I didn't "vote"!
At time of post its 77 votes each. Conclusive then :greengrin
Has to be Maka for me.
Stack seems intent on staying on his line. Without the height of Jones we need someone to command the area when it comes to cross balls...Maka is the man for this task!
Has anybody mentioned Stack's mad run out of his box on Saturday?
I did vote for Stack this time but seeing as he has not been here for a long enough period of time it is really hard to make a good judgement!
You should have started this poll in a couple of months time and we might have had a better idea. :agree:
Season has basically just started so still time to make decisions on who is better!
Right... Makas ahead...
I say we close this thread and settle for that.
Are Hearts fans allowed to vote on these polls?
100 to Maka. Poll closed. Must be all these hearts fans I guess. :bitchy:
Haha, yeah fair enough. Was mostly just being a pedantic ****.
Like you, I did notice that Stack seems to be slow off his line for crosses but if anything a bit rash when it comes to through balls. Stack's difference in attitude between these two similar areas of his game is weird. Maybe not confident of his physical presence when coming out and fighting for the ball in a crowded penalty area?
Maka :agree:
I'm too old to be pooping my pants like a kid and too young to be pooping my pants like a senile old fart, so it has to be Stack:agree:
Stack. Every single time.
Stack's a safe pair of hands, steady and unspectacular whilst Maka, albeit no doubt possessing more potential, has too many kamikaze moments and that has to be weighed up against his ability to make some blinding saves.
However, I'll support whoever has the jersey.
Clearly though, does anyone know the difference between Rohypnol and Tango?
You know when you've been Tango'ed.
There, that's my contribution to this thread done and dusted. Okaythanksbye.
Yves.
Jury Still out for me, I voted for Maka as pre season with the new goalkeeping coach I thought Maka looked a lot better.
Prefer a goal keeper to come for corners but that said you can't drop him just now as first blank sheet in the league so as long as he is doing it in training and not mis-behaving he has to stay in goal,
I know that goes against my vote but there you go
Can I change my vote?
To be fair Maka gets criticised for a number of things that don't result in goals, very few of his perceived errors have led to goals on the whole.
Stack has had quite a few moments in the games he has played so far where he has been very lucky that goals haven't followed from his mistakes.
He is making them though and many led us to believe he was just a safe pair of hand and clealry better than Maka. That's not the case in any way.
He has not made any mistakes that have led us to losing goals/games, so for that fact alone he is better than Maka. We all know that if a goalie makes a mistake it is usually worse than say a midfielder, but in Maka's case quite a few of these have been disasterous, whereas none of Stacks have...so far. Plus Stack has had only a dodgy defence in front of him whereas Maka, on the whole, hasn't. I shudder to think what Dodgy Maka and a dodgy defence would equal.
Stack didn't have a great game last night, his kicking was very bad! :grr:
He hasn't made any mistakes that have led to goals yet so I still have a lot of faith in our current number 1! :agree:
I also have faith in Maka to push him all the way and I think Maka and Stack will be right at it all the way until May! :agree:
think on balance i feel both have their pros and cons but i vote maka based purely on his ability to make the big save stack is like colgan never really made a big stop but was ok
I know that this goalie debate has probably gone on long enough, but I have to say I am amazed at the support Maka gets on this board. He is undoubtedly a very nice big fella, but as a goalkeeper he is one of the worst I`ve seen in 50 years supporting Hibs. Stack has only just arrived at the club so should be given time before all these conclusions are made about him. I have a strong feeling that if Stack had performed how Maka has performed for these last couple of years there would be nowhere near the level of support for him that Maka is getting now.
Stack for me over Makalamby every single day off the week.
Maka 138
Stacks 108
Oh.... how the tables have suddenly turned after one performance. :cool2:
Not one performance - Stack has now played in five games so people are now getting nearer to be able to assess him properly on what they see in match time rather than on the Youtube "hard man" clips and opinions based on that from other on here! :agree:
If the guy was as good as some claim (not me as I'm still very uncovinced by him) then he would get more support in the poll as he played more games whereas the opposite seems to be happening!
:dunno: :hmmm:
A ridiculous poll - as has been mentioned previously.
Stack needs far more games under his belt before he can be fairly judged.
Come back 6 months down the line please.
FourFourTwo's pre-season club-by-club guide asked the Plymouth contributor which player they'd most like to get rid of.
His answer? Graham Stack. No elaboration required.
