The fact only ian Wright thought it was a penalty out of all the pundits, presenters, commentators and VAR experts must tell you otherwise?
Harry kane kicks him with his follow through.
In addition, after being booked, Bellingham commits 2 foils (one was at least a yellow) and kicks the ball away but nothing happens...
Kane catches the Dutch player with his follow through, not the other way about. If that’s a penalty, alongside defenders having to try and defend with their arms unnaturally behind their back anytime they are in the box what’s the point of being a defender nowadays.
Is quite clearly and obviously not a penalty
Quite how the VAR decided it clearly and obviously was a penalty is baffling to me and pretty much every pundit - it's a clanger
Or big Sam's involved. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f9ea070f06.jpg

Omeonga got away with a very very similar one at Tynie when Souttar got a nick to the ball first - it’s a penalty for me and the Dutch defender didn’t even complain, nor did his captain. His foot hangs nowhere near the ball, I’d always be looking for it if it were me.
Ah yes. Here it is

Would say the two challenges are very different, given Kane is getting a shot away and it's him that initiates the contact.
Still I'm not as certain as some seem to be that tonight's wasn't a penalty... I can see why it was given.
Just as some people on here were recovering from election night this happens and the tears have started flowing again lol
Boss let us watch the game if we worked through our breaks, fair play to England, back to back Euros finals and can they win it?
Being born in England, I wouldn't begrudge them the victory on Sunday I do fancy Spain though.
Never a pen!
We’re so bad, the ref is corrupt, worst VAR decision ever. I love this thread 😀🏴
Can’t wait for Sunday when it will either be much the same as above or England were beaten by first decent team they played blah, blah, blah 😂
Well mr Scouse Hibby, I am convinced that you will be a happy man on Sunday as Spain are unfortunate enough to be against the team which has been chosen to win. You’re correct. We will all be spouting your former suggestion, if and when they win, but, in my opinion, there is little likelihood of the latter, as England are being offered the tournament on a plate. ****** knows why, as they are piss poor, but they are. :greengrin
What England have going for them is multiple players that can come up with a moment coupled with a lot of spirit and determination. They’ve come from behind in every knockout game but they’ll need to be a hell of a lot better than that to get past Spain.
Obviously a ridiculous penalty decision but do think England deserved to win. Had the better of it.
Shows their depth being able to bring quality like Watkins on.
I had the correct score so got some money back on it, it shouldn't have been a penalty though, and to those who said the defender never complained, well why in that case did the ref feel the need to explain it to him afterwards, which he clearly did. And it's irrelevant if one sides better than the other that doesn't make it the right decision. How many times have we been the better team in derby games and lost or drawn these games. And just out of curiosity, was that the ref who served a six month ban for match fixing?
Incredible that Spain in the final will be the first "elite" team England have faced so far. It's quite bizarre. If they don't win this it's a monumental opportunity missed.
England actually played well first half after they went behind. I thought they needed to score at that point though as they’ve played well for 20 minutes or so here and there in this tournament then fallen back into their laboured pattern of play. It then becomes a lottery whether they win or not, even though they’ve managed to come good every time so far.
Re the penalty - I think that might be a foul elsewhere on the pitch therefore a penalty in the box. If an attacker hangs a foot like that when a defender is making a clearance and injures him it’s considered to be a bit naughty so can the same not be applied there in the box? I guess the bit that is frustrating is that on one day it goes one way on another day and for another team it’s something different. First instinct for me though was that it was never a penalty.
Spain have been strong so far and I’ve been sort of waiting for them to run out of puff - often the best team in the tournament get edged out by anti-football and penalties at some point. Hopefully they’ve got one last big performance in them.
The finish by Watkins was ridiculous, such a good player. Given the squad they’ve got it’s really about time they do win a major tournament but let’s hope they are still waiting after Sunday.
