1960 Q HIBS were drawn against Lausanne-Sport on this day in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup can anyone remember the score?
That game in Perth in 2019 was just amazing.
After watching soul destroying displays by Hibs, and then to see them play so creatively and seemingly without a care in the world was just a shock.
At the time, it made me really wish Eddie May was appointed Head Coach
My one regret is that I lost a Bridie when we scored the third goal. I've still not got over that :-(

1882 Before the formation of Leagues the Scottish Cup was the only national competition in Scottish Football HIBS entertained Glasgow club Partick Thistle on this day and drew a tough encounter 2-2 The HIBS side contained Owen Brannigan and Malachy Byrne from the original 1875 side HIBS won the replay in Glasgow 4-1 one week later but would go out to Arthurlie 0-6 after successfully appealing a 3-4 reverse
As a 13yo I remember Johnny Graham's debut, great interest back then as signing players was such a rarity and especially when playing after just signing that afternoon. I remember getting home after the game and my Jambo supporting [late] dad asking how the new player got on and I told him that he was constantly on the move and would shoot every chance he got, with a two goal debut and joining a forward line that included Marinello, McBride, Cormack & Stevenson, our new signing settled in well and was soon rewarded with a Scottish League cap.
Could have sworn it was:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WiSHES TO JIM ‘CILLA’ BLACK
234 Appearances one goal and no bookings some record for a Centre Half
Played every game in that fantastic season 1972/73 58 in all
My overriding memory of Jim is watching him on Sportsnight With Coleman versus Leeds United away in 1973 the first time they had seen the overlapping Centre Half as he cut through the centre of a very good Leeds United team like a knife through butter
Many Happy Returns

Another great game, that Leeds team went through to near the end of February before they got beat during that season, creating a new English record. Hibs absolutely hammered them in the most one sided 0-0 draw I've ever seen. I had moved to Greater Manchester around three months earlier and my then boss, Jim, said the following morning, after he watched the highlights, was amazed how Hibs, particularly Alex Cropley & Tony Higgins, time and time again tore the then invincible Leeds apart, he said he knew now why I was always going on about Hibs.
my first ever conversation with Jim, Jim, do you like football? Me, is the Pope a catholic? Jim, What did you think of the Scotland v Northern Ireland game in May? Me, I was there, it was all Scotland but we couldn't convert the chances, Jim, what was Trevor Anderson like? Me, although he got the winner, he did nothing else, he was a forward and it was all Scotland, Jim, that's my brother!
Glad to say we got on really well following that conversation, his brother played for Man U and he used to take me to the games and we used to get in via the players entrance, but they were never anywhere near as good as the team I had left behind in Edinburgh.
IIRC he was more a Coach than a player helping out John Blackley
Yes he was well past his best but he still had the touches and I am sure Messrs Durie Rice Kane and Hunter benefited from his knowledge and experience
JC certainly had a lot of time for him
As I said never won a game with HIBS drew 4 lost 7

Willie MacFarlane’s HIBS were playing some exciting stuff and were sitting top of the League in this top versus second top encounter at Tannadice
All hell is let loose after seventeen minutes when Peter Marinello gathered the ball in midfield shirt outside the shorts long black hair flying in the wind as he went on a mazy run beating man after man before sending a blistering drive beyond Don Mackay from 18 yards for the only goal of the game
Edit;
Jim Black was missing from the HIBS lineup after being sent off versus Kilmarnock Away 25/10/1969
Pat Stanton reverted back to his favoured position of Centre Back
So much for Jim Black’s reputation of never having been booked ?
