Nah, I presume fashions had moved on by the time I started going to games.
Incidentally, that was my first season attending games on my own, at the heady age of 13.

Interesting footage of the match below as the match officials collude to try and ensure that Rangers do not lose :greengrin

Q What player did Tony Mowbray take with him to WBA?
That was when the leagues were first introduced and the winners of the Second Division had to also win a vote by the top league clubs to get promoted.
Incidentally, Hearts voted in favour of Hibs being promoted but Celtc voted against.
Celtc had been on a long campaign to eradicate all other clubs with Irish origins so that they would have a monopoly on supporters of Irish descent. They apparently even subsidised supporters buses at one point to encourage fans in other areas to watch them instead of supporting their local team.
Charitable origins? My Ar5e!

What a player Peter was. I am sure that Bill Shankley was after Peter when he was at Hibs. Jock Stein picked Peter as a 17 year old to play against Brazil. I have never seen anyone since who runs like Peter did. Sure he was man of the match against Brazil.
Not a bad goalkeeper as well.
Really great player and he was picked to play at Hampden against Pele and Brazil. Shankley took him to Liverpool from Forest, where he made the new position of holding mid with number 5 on his back the position that became synonymous with Liverpools (Ray Kennedy etc, etc) success over many years.
Wonderful player who was also great in the air.
Every school boy in Edinburgh used to imitate his running style running on their toes prepared to launch themselves at a seconds notice to bullet a header into the postage stamp
A brave intelligent player with the heart of a lion well able to pick out a pass and chip in with his fair share of goals
I remember one Derby he took over in goals and against St Mirren when Willie Wilson reappeared on the wing looking like Kochise
Peter was No.1 target for the boo boys at Easter Road for a good bit of his time at Hibs.A guy who always stood near where we stood would start it before the team came out.One of us eventually had to have a word with him so he moved somewhere else. Peter never gave up on a lost cause.
He wasn't universally popular in his pomp either, although players like Colin Grant & Merv Jones had become the No1 target for the cretins. I never could understand it, he was a terrific player, I remember his last game before heading south, April 1970, he scored a brace as Willie Mac's Hibs beat a really good St Johnstone side 4-1. Tuesday after school the Evening News brought the dreaded news that Matt Gillies had taken him to Forest for 80k, gutted, and so soon after his great pal, Peter Marinello had departed.
I remember the yellow goalie jersey being about ten sizes too big for him and after that save pulling off lumps of mud pretending to throw it at passing Hearts players
I also remember him getting sent off versus Hearts was on a short fuse and was bad for retaliating as he had to put up with a lot of tough treatment
