Yeah Spain are tidy but a bit of shooting practice wouldnt go amiss.
Terrible from the defender
Edit - Keeper got a touch actually so not much he could’ve done there
I’m loving this game . Spain doing everything but score them going ahead curtesy of an Italian own goal.

You have to wonder how much the pay off was....
Is spalleti wearing a jacket or a cardigan? There's no vents on it
He's all time top goalscorer due to his number of games he played. The English league was also not anywhere near the standard it is now when he played.
IMO he'd not even make the top 5 forward to have played in the EPL.
Saying that I agree he was probably close to world class at his peak.
He never done anything of note on the European or international stage though and that has to be taken into account.
Incredible to me that this 16 year old has so much football intelligence to play in this obviously complex Spanish system. Hes basically a wide right midfielder but expected to cut inside to create a numerical advantage?
What a strike, this Williams is no Alan O Brien.
Neco Williams is probably the best ever Welshman to play left wing for Spain.
Fat Sally’s right about the increase in the number of substitutions benefiting the bigger, richer teams.
Carvajal is a great defender but a cheating cant.
Loved watching Spain tonight, I put a few bob on them before the tournament and I'm quite confident.
Spain have certainly been the most impressive so far, 2 excellent results so far.
Means nothing though - and there are some good sides who haven’t really got fully into their stride yet, England amongst them - they’ll be dangerous.
This has been a superb tournament, I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I watch little elite football these days so there are players I haven’t even heard of. It’s freshened the tournament up for me, instead of being a bit jaded with football it’s like the 80s when the only time I ever saw these players is at a big tournament.
So much football to like up to now, long may it continue.
Kane is better than Shearer was, both are/were world class. They've both scored an almost identical amount of goals and Kane is only 30.
If we're talking about ability as a footballer in general and not just as a striker then Kane is quite a bit better.
The fantastic summer of football continues tonight with the start of the Copa America.
Argentina are obvious favourites, Brazil should be there or thereabouts despite being a bit of mess by their standards, Uruguay have an outside chance, and my dark horses are Colombia - unbeaten in 23 games, a run which includes wins against Spain, Germany and Brazil.
I thought Spain were quite good today and thoroughly deserved to win, but that has to be one of the worst Italian teams I've seen. Williams wasn't nearly as effective in the previous game even though Spain won 3-0 in that one. But Italy were woeful, and not just because Spain were good either. What about that free kick they had well inside the Spanish half and they didn't seem to know what they were doing, it was as if they hadn't even played together, and ended up passing it back to the goalie, who was the only decent player out of the lot of them. Quite hard to say how good Spain are at the moment but they've certainly not done anything wrong so far, and have already qualified for the next round, so we'll see how they get on there. Remember they put 7 goals past somebody in the last WC (might have been Costa Rica) and still went out in the next round. And Rodri can get to **** after his comments about Scotland but apart from that he's a great player.
Italy had their chances and the goal was a bounce off a knee. They're not finished. Not by a long chalk.
Imagine taking Wharton, Mainoo, Gallagher and Palmer to the Euros then playing TAA in midfield who doesn’t even play there for his club, I just can’t get get my head around that one. Southgate just strikes me as a very average manager who should be doing more with that set of players.
I think there was around about 50 penalties Shearer scored in the premier though the reason for that was probably because he had a powerful shot that had accuracy like some of these ....

:not worth
Kane has scored more goals per game than Shearer in a far more competitive era. He's also scored more goals both on a per game basis and total goals at international level.
Henry
Drogba
Aguero
Haaland
Kane
Suarez
All 6 better forwards than Shearer IMO.
He did score a lot of penalties but interestingly he's also missed more penalties than any player in EPL history. His overall conversion rate for penalties was 83%. Compare that to Henry for example who converted 92% of his penalties.
He was a fantastic player though no doubt, I just don't rate him as highly as some other do (including himself).
"kane couldn't lace shearers boots" is without doubt one of the dumbest things I've ever read. No one who actually watches Kane could believe that.
Shearer was a great player. Kane is probably slightly better.
Trent had a decent game. He's much better at opening the game up than Mainoo, Wharton and Gallagher. Palmer plays a totally different position.
His mistake is trying to force Foden into the side, totally out of position. He offers nothing on the left and has to drift in field. England then have no one on the left because Trippier isn't a left back and isn't overlapping. Gordon and Shaw in the team would have them looking significantly better.
England have a favourable path to the quarters at least.
Win their group they'll play a 3rd place from groups D, E or F. So likey Poland, Ukraine or Czechia
After that they'll play the winner of Swiss vs Italy(possibly Croatia)
A semi final showdown with France SHOULD take care of them, but we can only dream here of reaching that phase of a major tournament so hardly a failure
I think England will only improve as the tournament goes on. They won't be far away.
Im not sure the favourable path thing works this year, theres been too many strong performances from supposedly small nations to feel confident about what an ‘easy’ game is. Spain France Germany look the strongest but behind those 3 i think most of the rest of the likely last 16 will be able to beat each other on their day.
They get such easy draws when you think about it, amazing that the likes of Denmark and Greece have won this while they have not.
With the players they have they should skoosh this Euro tournament.
Slovakia 1 v 0 Ukraine
Slovakia 4 shots on target already
Ukraine's defence went sleeping there .
Slovakia 1 v 1 Ukraine
Slovakia 1 v 2 Ukraine
Quite the turnaround here. Slovakia had played three halfs of faultless football this tournament, Ukraine finaly turn up and score two goals. I think this group could throw up a dark horse, Romania looked very impressive too.
Belgium could be out if impressive Romania turn up again tomorrow ! Who would have predicted that !
Gugenpress Austria vs Poland, great noise.
1-0 Austria. Good header
Austria=fast, Poland=slow.
Yessssss get in there. Poland equalise. :greengrin
In 4 games so far the winning team has had to come from behind to win, the same number as in the entirety of the last tournament.
That was a beautiful Austrian goal. Baumgartner is absolute class.
Keeper brought down the player with his face 😁
Great 2nd half this.
That's a great save

Sceszney save there is one of the best ive seen, amazing
This Austria side has been as good as anyone so far. Dark horses of the tournament?
France victory tonight and a winner in Ned Aus means this is a 3 point third place group. There's another permutation of Ned win tonight and on Tuesday plus France win on Tuesday, but I want France to win the whole thing so let's discount that one!
Obviously Scotland win is baked in!
Mbappe on the bench
State of Wayne Rooney. No stranger to a pie I’d wager
No goals in the first 5 minutes makes this a dud game compared to most of the other games in this tournament !!
Que the goal any minute now…
That Memphis is murder 👎
Wow, Dembeles pace is incredible, Ake’s strength is supposed to be his pace and he just blew past him, shame about the touch
VAR been seamless all tournament then English refs get involved.
That's got to be interfering with the goalie if he's standing right next to him and it stops him diving. Jenas really is thick as ****

The minute English refs involved, we have chaos. Shocker
Think that was an offside goal sadly as Dutch player close to the GK and obstructing him. Don’t think the keeper was getting it though.
Think the English refs have been really crap in this game - most other games been really pretty good.
That’s a shambles of a decision to rule that out 😂😂
Can you imagine the mess if a Scottish ref had been in charge.:faf:
Shame cause this game needed something to spark it into life, feels like it’s gone flat now…
Why didn't the goalie dive?
Think that's a harsh call tbh
