My gym owner has just posted a pro Russian video, I’ve challenged him and he’s just replied ‘Putin over Sunak any time’.
Want to challenge him but genuinely dumbfounded.
How can people support Putin?
Printable View
I wouldn’t waste your effort. Western folk who are still pro Putin after the last few years will never change their mind so might as well not fall out with your Gym owner over it 😂
I guess the mindset starts with thinking that politicians like Sunak, Biden ect = **** which I think many of us 100% agree with however somewhere down the line they mange to twist that into thinking lunatics like Putin and Trump are the answer.
The answer should be competent sane politicians who aren’t corrupt however unfortunately on the rare occasion that one appears they never make it near the top.
Before I get accused of supporting Trump, I don’t, unfortunately his Truth social has just done some sort of merger which values his share at £4 billion.
There is a clause that he can’t sell shares for 6 months or something so he can’t cash in.
Hope to *uck it goes tits up and he ends up bankrupt and/or in jail
Millions of Americans will now be voting Brussel Sprout as a result of this post. The only part man/part vegetable who will build the swamp, drain the wall and make America great again like Trump failed to do first time around.
Go Sprout.

MASSIVE NEWS - DOJ says 60-day rule does NOT apply to Trump trials, because he’s already been indicted
So the Trump federal trials CAN happen even if they run into September/October
Drastically increases odds that Trump is tried — and convicted — before the election in November
Please be true.

I’ve not read the story properly but it looks like trump has tried to sell shares in Truth to pay his fines so he can appeal but hasn’t told he guys who founded it.
They’re now suing him too.
I’m praying that he can’t pay his fines and the attorney general starts seizing properties
Trump has until Saturday to stump up about $85m for the first of his fines. That will give an early indication of whether he is likely to make the $455m fine by 25th March.
I don’t think he makes either payment?

Alarmingly, everything is pointing to Trump getting the Republican nomination. I don’t think his misconduct guilt and financial burden will hinder his progress against the fierce opposition of sleepy Joe Biden.

Trump wins at Supreme Court stopping states removing him from ballot.
I wonder if he’ll go for compensation. $ 350 million would come in handy. :greengrin
I think there is a lot of Haley supporters who won’t vote for trump.
It’s normally 50/50 and the floating voters decide the election but no chance the majority of floating voters vote for trump, added with the moderate republicans who might just abstain then I think Biden should be a bit more comfortable than last time

Haley out of the race.
Whats the odds on her being Trumps V P pick. Make sure her voters come his way.
:agree: When he was president, he also spoke admiringly about China removing term limits for president so Xi Jinping could stay in office, in a just-putting-it-out-there kind of a way.
I read yesterday that in a Democrat survey in 3 of the swing states (that eliminated previous Trump voters and election deniers so they were hearing from gettable voters, basically,) only about a third had any awareness of the authoritarian threats Trump has made, including suspending or terminating parts of the constitution and being a dictator on Day 1. When presented with his statements, it had a negative effect on their impression of him, which suggests that if Americans who want to hang onto their democracy / don't want to be ruled by a wannabe spiteful and dictatorial King with a revenge lust can get that information out there, it might make a difference. Not a huge survey, but it's both worrying and hopeful... the only thing is, his threats have been very widely reported here. If people who aren't Trump-minded aren't hearing what he's saying now, I'm not sure how you reach them.
He said it out loud, with his own mouth. He also said that he would be a dictator on day 1. Also out of his own mouth, on the telly, he has said that he would use the military to crush dissent, and that he would be removing the government's legal personnel - amongst others - and replacing them with loyalists who would do what they were told.
Even Fox have drawn attention, occasionally, to some of this. And there's a clip of Sean Hannity, who's been a big Trump booster, trying to help him out on the retained records issue, along the lines of: - So it's ridiculous to suggest that you'd deliberately take and hang onto these documents, isnt it Mr President?...
- You betcha I did. They're MINE!
[They're not. Brief summary:
§ 2202. Ownership of Presidential records
The United States shall reserve and retain complete ownership, possession, and control of Presidential records; and such records shall be administered in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. https://www.archives.gov/about/laws/...l-records.html]
He keeps saying these things out loud. Repeatedly. At best, he's a egregious bull*******. At worst, he's a very serious threat, and not just to the US.

Looks like trump has posted his $90 million bond by getting a bond/loan from a Russian backed business called Chubb.
Nothing dodgy there then.
Amazing how a billionaire with all this cash, needs a loan for 90 million.
No.
Chubb locks n keys was a brand name owned by Assa Abloy…a rather large Swedish conglomerate. I think the brand is actually dead now.
Chubb financial is completely different.
The origins of why both have / had the Chubb name I have no idea but sounds like a good afternoon for some rabbit hole Googling!
Looks like Trump can’t come up with the bond for the 25th March deadline. Shame.
Looking forward to seeing his assets start to get seized from next week.[emoji106]

Read this on Quora a while recently
Ridiculous debt. Trump financed the casinos with junk bonds at high interest rates, that had a slim chance of being repaid even if the casinos were successful. I’m pretty sure he knew this, and so after taking his cut simply planned on running, leaving investors holding the bag. When I first got into gambling someone once told me, “Whenever you win, put some away, then gamble with the rest of the winnings, then stop. Gamble with the casino’s money, not your money”.
Overexposure. Atlantic City was already full of casinos. Trump wasn’t the first guy to dream about “the East Coast Las Vegas”. To add one more casino to the mix would be a significant risk. However, Trump at one point was running FOUR Atlantic City casinos. He thought that by having four of them, he might get four times the gamblers. Nope. He got the same number of gamblers, now spread across four casinos, at four times the price.
Per above, I believe Trump had approached this situation with his real estate thinking, believing that four properties might net four times the revenue, like tenants and rents. Haha, totally different animals. Gamblers aren’t signing leases, moving into casinos, and paying rent. There’s only so many gamblers, thankfully a small percentage of the population, who aren’t at all like the majority of people who might be looking for residential or office space.
Location. At that time in the 80’s, many of the high rolling gamblers were coming in from Asia. Trump knew this and had concierge offices with Chinese and Japanese speakers set up in his casinos. But AC was quite out of their way across the country, while most of them would be flying into LAX, where LV was only a short hop away.
Indian casinos. A few years after Trump had got his casinos running, the US Govt cut a deal with the Native American tribes of the nation, for them to open casinos on their land. Much of this land was in New England, near NYC and AC. This had a devastating effect on Trump’s and the rest of AC’s casinos.
Image. For some reason Trump has a well-known penchant for gaudy, ostentatious design. Lots of fake gold trim and opulent accents must surround everything of his. It very much seems to scream, “Look at me, I’m rich”. But like the old saying, money can’t buy taste. This was very off-putting to many, who’d rather stay and gamble at classier properties.
Terrible business relations. Trump was well-known for being a cheapskate, demanding the lowest bid on construction projects, who he’d then delay in paying, or not even paying at all. The result, his casinos were terribly built. Guests often complained of issues with their rooms, lights and plumbing not working, and leaks. Word got around and this affected business. Years later as seen here, the abandoned Trump Plaza then actually started crumbling, so was deemed a public safety hazard and ordered demolished. A fitting metaphor for Trump’s casino ventures, as well as most other things that are Trump in America.

4 days to go. The only way he gets out of paying is declaring bankruptcy before Monday otherwise the state will move to seize his properties. If he goes for bankruptcy then Friday would need to be the day. Will be very interesting to see which way he goes.

Trump at the Manhattan DA criminal hearing in NY before dealing with his lack of bond for his civil case under Judge Engoron. Trump's lawyer after starting with diversionary tactics is getting torn a new one my Judge Jaun Merchan. Trump and his lawyer have been asked to cite cases where there was clear judicial misconduct by the Manhattan DA and by the Judge himself. Said the lawyers pattern of delays has been going on for months. Before going into a break Merchan stated the Manhattan DAs office went so far above and beyond what they were required to do, that "it is odd that we're even here"
Merchan after recalling the court offered a 30 day adjournment. In doing so he got Trump's lawyer to agree that certain things they have been saying are simply not true ( a tactic of giving him enough rope etc). He also pointed out that with Trump's lawyers experience in the SDNY prosecutors office he should know fine and well that he could have done what he is doing now, months ago. I think they are at another break now but this is not going well for Trump or his lawyer. I think NY state appeals court lowers Trump's bond to $175mil.
TLDR? NY state appeals court lowers Trump's bond to $175 million for civil fraud judgment while Judge Juan Merchan notes a "pattern" of discovery misconduct in Trump's criminal case.
Trump hush money trial to start on 15th April Donald Trump's $464m deadline and Stormy Daniels hearing - live updates - BBC News from 17:03
Trump said afterwards
"they are doing things never done before, it happens in third world countries" and "the judge cannot go fast enough to get this started" Biden & his thugs etc etc etc, Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of Fraud related to an alleged cover-up of that payment in his accounts.
ermm probably because they've never had such a bent corrupt crooked PoS for an ex-president before, ya radge
and maybe if yer lawyers hadn't spent so many months with stalling tactics it would have been started a lot earlier, ya radge
No, members downselect and have a runoff until there’s two standing. It then goes out to the Tory Party members.
The swivel eyed loons then choose who from that two is their favourite.
We’ve had so many of these recently I’m surprised you are not au fait with the process.
The public most definitely have not chosen Truss or Sunak.
They chose Johnson but the Parliamentary Party killed him off.
J
The coverage of those events had a tone as though they were choosing a song for Eurovision. Little chat of the state of the nation, all about: which candidate would acceptable to the party, how that candidate appeals to this demographic and how another "goes down well" with another. Absolutely living in a tiny Londoncentric media bubble, none of whom are affected by that parties' disastrous tenure.
Well, it was the straw that broke the camels back. For about 5 to 6 years his followers had all regurgitated his lies and backed him, until they couldn't do it any longer. He should never have been anywhere near parliamentary politics anyway.Quote:

Nope. What you describe happened with Truss. But with Sunak, the Parliamentary Party didn't trust the membership to choose their preferred candidate (Sunak). So they changed the rules for eligibility and no choice was ever presented to the swivel eyed loons outside Westminster.
How did the Conservatives elect a new leader?
Nominations
Under the rules of the latest leadership contest, candidates needed to have the support of at least 100 Conservative MPs (not including themselves).
Rishi Sunak was the only one to reach that level and so became the party leader.
As there are currently 357 Tory MPs, a maximum of three candidates could have met the threshold.
The other contenders - Boris Johnson and Penny Mordaunt - both withdrew from the process.
Came on to see what news about Trump and I see its all about Tories and who voted in their leader. I thought we already had a Tory thread.

November truly is a lose/lose situation. Either Trump wins legitimately and does exactly what he says he’ll do - and the country is ****ed; or he loses, and there is so much civil unrest from his cult members, that the country is ****ed.
He’s broken it beyond any kind of repair.
https://x.com/RonFilipkowski/status/...704472772?s=20
I sincerely hope you’re right, but I have serious concerns. Biden will win the popular vote by millions, but it’s what matters in a handful of states that matters.
Trump was speaking in Mississippi yesterday, spouting his usual lies and bile. He was flanked on either side by various different law enforcement officers, standing with him, not as security.
His actions caused the death of police officers at the capitol, and yet these idiots continue to back him. I hope your confidence is proven correct, but I think that country is completely broken.
It’s still very early for the polls to count for much. I think when it comes to the crunch Americans will vote for stability. No sitting President has ever lost with an economy performing as well as the US is just now.
The Biden campaign is better funded and organised and that will count for a lot as we move out of the summer. The Trump campaign is skint and he is using what he has for his legal bills.
In the end I think Biden wins handsomely.

He's not borrowing any money from them.
They are putting up a bond, which doesn't need any payment by anyone at the moment. It becomes payable if, for example, he defaults on any of the Court conditions. The bond is secured againt " a combination of cash and investment-grade bonds"
If he loses his appeal, it (and the rest) will be payable by DT. If he then skips the country, they will have to pay the 175m, and will recover it through their security.
He will need to pay a fee for their service, a normal bond fee is around 10%, which given the companies owner's background of sub prime lending and charging the highest interest rates allowed in each state, I would say is a bargain!
Just seen that NY Court has rejected the bond due to insufficient paperwork from the bond supplier, they have to resubmitted with more background on their finances. The person behind the company is a multibillionaire so I can't imagine this will be an issue but the bond remains un-posted.
